Position Summary

Caribou Thunder is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Software & Integration Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a key role in supporting all aspects of the software engineering lifecycle, with a focus on automated software testing, hardware/software integration, systems administration, and modeling and simulation software development. Your primary responsibility will be developing and coding unit test cases in coordination with the Software Integration Test Lead.

Complete Description

As a Principal Software & Integration Engineer, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, such as Systems Engineering, Test Automation, DevSecOps, and Systems Test, within an agile software development environment.

  • Deploy and manually test the system to ensure the effectiveness of automated tests.
  • Collaborate with teams to integrate new features into the system.
  • Lead the integration team, consisting of members from various scrum teams.
  • Understand and demonstrate system use cases using the deployed software.
  • Maintain and manage the configuration of our operational system.
  • Monitor resource usage on real and virtual computers.
  • Drive discussions to upgrade computing resources for the operational system.
  • Identify opportunities for additional test automation and advocate for their implementation.
  • Monitor and improve deployment procedures to automate and enhance reliability.
  • Serve as the point of contact for the test team to validate bug reports.
  • Provide training and support to the user community, including testers and technical writers.

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience in troubleshooting and resolving complex HW/SW integration problems.
  • Experience providing test services and ensuring process compliance.
  • Knowledge of software development deliverables and processes.
  • Familiarity with embedded systems design and implementation.
  • Knowledge of Test Driven Development (TDD).
  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration Tools (e.g., Jenkins, Bamboo, GitLab CI).
  • Familiarity with Code Coverage Tools (e.g., SonarQube, Clover, JUnit).
  • Experience with Agile software methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Knowledge of Radar Systems.

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience with Java programming.
  • Experience with Radar communications.
  • Extensive integration experience.
  • Previous in-depth domain knowledge of program software design and code.
  • Proficiency with DevOps technologies, including Jenkins, Fortify, Ansible, and the Atlassian suite.
  • Experience in complete software development lifecycle.
  • Experience with software development in real-time embedded systems for military applications.
  • Understanding of application and embedded software integration procedures.
  • Experience with software test automation at multiple requirement levels.
  • Experience with automated test frameworks (e.g., Cucumber, Google Test, TestComplete).
  • Cloud and container experience (e.g., Docker or Kubernetes).
  • Advanced level understanding of application and embedded software integration procedures.
  • Experience with VMWare infrastructure.
