Who are we looking for
We're looking for a Principal Solution Architect for our Strategic Enterprise Capabilities (SEC) program. This role is in the Global Architecture & PaaS organization directly working in the SEC program. This role will partner and engage with business and technology leaders across all the capabilities in SEC and the teams working with the SEC program in planning, creating, maintaining, and performing capability roadmaps aligned to the overall company and solution strategies to ensure that solutions are accurately captured and planned for short, medium and long-term execution. The candidate needs to have a strong understanding of technical concepts, excellent attention to detail, strong verbal and written communication skills, and be self-motivated and operates with a high sense of urgency and a high level of integrity.
What will you work on
If this is you, you'll be working with the SEC team and perform the following tasks:
  • Provide thought leadership, create strategies and make recommendations on a wide variety of complex issues having a significant and strategic impact on processes and the business.
  • Demonstrate a strong point of view for architecture principles balanced with tactical timelines, cost and risks.
  • Ensures architecture alignment across domains and enabling functions (verticals and horizontals).
  • Integrate a broad range of ideas regarding technical architecture and develop strategies for migration toward the architectural vision.
  • Contribute to architecture guiding principles, development standards, training and hiring.
  • Embrace and influence technology platform thinking and drive principled architecture and best practices.
  • Coordinate acceptance of solutions & ensure decisions are made and deviations from standards are properly identified, addressed/documented.
  • Identify and research innovative new technology to improve organizational capabilities, conduct proof of concepts and evolve architecture standards.


What you bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Information Management, or related field of study or equivalent combination of education, experience and training.
  • Minimum of 5 years of software architecture experience.
  • Exceptional collaboration, listening, writing and verbal communication skills with the ability to facilitate technology strategy, requirements and architecture conversations with all customers including management, business users and engineering roles.
  • Must demonstrate a track record of working on complex projects in large organizations.
  • Must demonstrate success in leading a methodical process of analyzing problems, gathering information, generating options and documenting solutions; then proposing and completing a course of action.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to pull together diverse individuals with different goals and facilitate productive discussions.
  • Must have experience developing strategy, E2E solution architecture and crafting technology roadmaps.
  • Must have experience working in microservices, distributed systems, commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and custom developed solutions.
  • Must have experience designing/implementing microservice architectures.
  • Must have experience doing DevOps, coding, RESTful APIs and modern software development practices.
  • Must have experience with Domain Driven Design and SAFe.
  • Must have experience working in both RDBS and NoSQL data stores.
  • Strong preference for experience working in distributed/cloud environments like AWS, Azure or GCP.
  • Strong preference for experience implementing and integrating with ERPs like SAP.
  • Strong preference for experience with SAP S4.
