Principal, SW Engineer

The Northern Trust Company seeks a Principal, SW Engineer to act as the principal designer for major software systems and their subsystems. Develop software application programs and analyze systems. Define requirements and design projects. Determine the most effective computer utilization to solve business problems and address business needs. Lead project planning, management status reporting, and implementation. Work at the highest technical level of all phases of system design and implementation, applying knowledge of applications program development technological alternatives.

Position requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, Electronic Engineering, Information Systems, or a related STEM field, followed by 5 years of progressively responsible experience with software design, development, testing, and implementation.

Experience must include a minimum of:

5 years of experience in software development for financial services software applications using .NET, .Net Core. Node.Js and MVC framework

5 years of experience with developing the responsive user interface using HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript

5 years of experience with query underlying data sources using Entity Framework with SQL Server as a backend database

5 years of experience designing and developing tables, views, and stored procedures

5 years of experience in developing Restful services using Web API for consuming and exposing data to different applications

5 years of experience with testing and executing client/server applications and developing interfacing software

5 years of experience with writing unit test cases for testing the business logic

5 years of experience with working as a lead software developer and providing technical guidance for other software developers

5 years of experience with working with business on gathering project requirements, providing estimates, and creating project plans

3 years of experience using GIT version control system for maintaining the source code

3 years of experience with creating build and deployment plans for continuous integrations.
