Principal System Engineer

Candidate Responsibilities

- Understand end-system need for power ICs (Precision LDO, DC-DC, Gate Drivers, Load Switch, eFuse, BMS, ORing controllers) to create documented specifications suitable for IC implementation

- Support feasibility studies for new power IC products; reviewing the concept, product architecture and end-application with the R&D system architects

- Analyze, model, and simulate system performance across use case scenarios and parametric variations

- Analyze end-equipment with Power IC content to identify future trends, opportunities for improving performance and adding value to these systems

- Develop business case proposals, product strategies and be part of core development team to take the product from concept to successful market release while meeting key project metrics (cost, performance, and schedule)

- Assist with generating the revenue plan for the product family and contribute to the short- and long-term product strategy and roadmap

- Enable cost leadership by driving low cost on multiple fronts (design, test and packaging)

- Assess and negotiate IC development tradeoffs with internal stakeholders (design, test, package engineering) and external (sales and customers)

- Prepare detailed validation plan for new product and ensure spec targets are met by development team

- Provide expert training to Application Engineer and key customers on new Power IC products and their end-applications

- Understand competitors' products and solutions

- Build and maintain your own network to key technical contacts at WW customers

- Relentlessly drive design wins for new products

Job Requirements

- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. MSEE/PhD preferred with focus on power IC circuit and applications

- More than 5 years of experience in Application Engineering, Systems Engineering, Design Engineering within power semiconductor or end-equipment industry with focus on power management, protection and switching ICs

- Simulate power IC based systems and generate circuit models to predict circuit behavior using MATLAB, SPICE, SIMPLIS, and thermal simulation

- Competitive benchmarking skills at device and system level

- Experience with making tradeoffs between system requirements and circuit capability/performance

- Ability to understand complex systems and to identify innovative solutions for it

- Ability to work effectively with people in different function and sites

- Support our customers by creating application tools like demo boards, application notes, etc

- Willingness to travel occasionally both domestic and international
