Donaldson has an exciting opportunity within our Innovative Business group seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to join our team. This person will be responsible for leading the development of new equipment-based solutions and processes for the food and beverage industry. We are looking for an experienced, self-motivated, proactive problem solver to work with a diverse global team building innovative new solutions.

Role Responsibilities:

• Develop innovative systems in the food and beverage industry
• Lead customer pilot trials to qualify new system-based solutions
• Support customers during new system startup
• Develop standard operating procedures for new equipment
• Lead the execution of systems-based projects through development and support commercialization
• Work with internal and external partners to build new system-based solutions
• Apply equipment and process expertise to evaluate feasibility of system-based solutions
• Participate in project gate meetings with stakeholders to make stop/go decisions
• Develop document packages for customer acceptance

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required
• 8+ years related professional engineering experience preferred.
• Food and beverage, life sciences, or other fluid processing industry experience
• Experience developing processes on fluid handling systems across the entire design life cycle (design, build and test).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Process optimization and control experience highly desirable
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
• Familiarity with PLC and HMI design
• Knowledge of process analytical technologies
• Practical application of fluid dynamics and fluid handling
• Ability to create P&IDs and PFDs for new processes
• Demonstrated experience leading capital projects and startup projects
• Strong presentation skills and ability/willingness to communicate at all levels, internally and externally.
• Ultrafiltration, RO, and microfiltration knowledge

Travel:

• This position may require travel within US/ internationally up to 30%
