The Surveillance & Network Systems (SNS) organization at Raytheon Intelligence & Space provides the joint warfighter with actionable information from an unblinking eye across the battlespace.

By joining our SNS Engineering team you'll have the opportunity to design, develop and test product capabilities for Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radars, integrated sensor suites, precision targeting, multispectral EO/IR targeting systems, Pilot Situational Awareness, Special mission aircraft and Strategic and tactical ISR Systems.

The Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance, Systems (ISRS) Mission Directorate is seeking a Principal Algorithm Systems Engineer to provide technical algorithm support and analysis to several programs or Internal Research and Development (IRAD) efforts on the family of Radar Sensor Systems (RSS) programs.

This position will reside in the Systems Engineering Center within the Radar Sensor Systems department. The Principal Algorithm Systems Engineer will work amongst other Systems Engineers on-site and will support the chief engineer, and lead systems engineer. Specific duties may include performance analysis, algorithm development, algorithm analysis, trade study generation, statistical modeling, performance predictions, and data analysis, for complex systems using Raytheon Engineering processes and practices. Related day-to-day duties include: participating and leading in peer reviews and resolving identified problems. This Principal Systems Engineer will interface with their team lead and/or Algorithm IPT lead, team members, and other teams on a daily basis, conduct or participate in customer and/or program presentations, and provide task progress status updates and work products to the team lead. This Systems Engineer will be a member of the Algorithm Integrated Product Team.

Required Skills:

Minimum of eight (8) years of experience (or equivalent) to include in the following areas: Signal Processing Algorithms or Models, Image Processing Algorithms or Models

Mathematical problem-solving skills: advanced statistics/probability, FFTs, statistical modeling, data analysis

Responsible for supporting new algorithm development, test, and analysis of systems

Demonstrated computer programming skills: implementation of signal/image processing algorithms in C/C++, Python and/or Matlab

Experience managing a small team

Interpersonal, presentation skills, verbal and written communication skills

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within one year of start date

Must be able to obtain a DoD Top Secret clearance within one year of start date

This position requires access to export-controlled Technical Information, hardware, software, and/or services that is restricted to U.S. Citizens

Desired Skills:

Active and in-scope DoD Top Secret US security clearance

Radar systems

Real-time programming

Detection and Estimation theory

Experience working in signal processing in an academic or industrial setting
