Principal Systems Integration Engineer (Data Focused Area Lead)
Job Description
Sierra Space, based in Louisville, Colorado with operations in Madison, Wisconsin, Durham, North Carolina, and Kennedy Space Center, Florida, designs and manufactures advanced spacecraft, satellites, propulsion and environmental systems, spacecraft subsystems and components for the U.S. government (including NASA), commercial customers and international organizations. Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for defining and overseeing the collection, storage and interpretation of data specific to Systems Engineering and Integration
- Management of data to create organized metadata, naming conventions, categories, etc.
Must-haves:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or related discipline and typically 14 (Fourteen) or more years of relevant experience; higher education may be considered in lieu of experience
- Relevant work experience may substitute for required education
- Experience in data science or data analysis
- Strong knowledge of systems engineering principles and practice
- Experience with the following:
- Working in multi-disciplinary design and development team
- Systems Engineering modelling tools & analysis applications
- Working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, self-starter
- Familiarity working in multi-disciplinary teams
- Creative problem solver, able to offer visual solutions
Preferred:
- Advanced understanding of systems analysis practices, requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles
- Knowledge of industry standard systems engineering design principles, to include, but not limited to requirements management, Model Based System Engineering (MBSE)
- Experience with Cameo, STK, Matlab, Python, and Java
- Experience or certification in INCOSE standards
- Background in human spaceflight
- Experience leading baseline definition and maturation in a complex development setting, including the use of high impact trade studies and other measures
- Ability to work with minimal information or direction to formulate proposed plans for resolving design/requirement solutions
- Experience presenting technical content and communicating effectively
- Experience with Jira and Confluence
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance may be required Learn more about the background check process for Security Clearances

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $159,430.15 - $219,216.46
Sierra Space offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
