Job Description

Job Overview:

Arm is forming a team to develop outstanding silicon demonstrators based on Arm's IP compute sub-system solutions and addressing markets such as premium mobile, infrastructure and automotive. Using the latest nodes, e.g. 3nm today, and applying the latest SoC 2.5D and 3D packaging developments, Arm's initial ambition is to demonstrate industry best-in-class performance by architecting, designing, implementing, and fabricating innovative silicon test chips.

With such an outstanding challenge we need individuals who are passionate and enthusiastic to influence future infrastructure system solutions, and participate in the investigation and development of system performance analysis related technologies which meet the requirements of our infrastructure market partners. You will be a technology leader where your ideas will make a difference and enable you to make your mark solving sophisticated technical problems in next generation systems!

Responsibilities:

Your job responsibilities will be diverse and may include SW/HW architecture, technology research, hands-on prototyping, and experimental investigations. In addition, you will interact with product engineering teams, and engage in partner and customer engagements where appropriate.

Other responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Design and develop system telemetry and performance architectures for products and test chips focused on server infrastructure market
  • Design experiments and conduct/drive analysis to extract the highest performance potential from future pre-silicon system designs covering system caches, coherency, quality of service and other architectural topics
  • Develop hardware and/or software specifications/prototypes that enable performance analysis on software and hardware platforms
  • Work closely with engineering teams conducting high-level performance analysis of hardware features, real world cloud applications and benchmarks.
  • Understand and analyze system-level architectural trade-offs (including hardware, memory systems, and system software).
  • Collaborate with system and software architects to influence design decisions.
  • Collaborate with engineering IP teams to see your design incorporated and delivered into products.
  • Communicate results and technical concepts with appropriate collateral, clearly and credibly.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Broad experience in SoC design, and the challenges involved in integrating IP and analyzing system-level performance and behavior.
  • Ability to quantify and make trade-offs between power, performance, and area appropriately to meet technical requirements.
  • Sound knowledge of how hardware and software work together in a system. Basic understanding of system/embedded software is a must, and experience with performance analysis tools is a bonus.
  • Track record in smartphone/tablet SoC Architecture or related work experience in design or system analysis. Experience should include System IPs.
  • Ability to translate highly technical concepts into practical plans.
  • Experience working with international teams across multiple subject areas, with ability to influence and drive progress in an ambiguous environment.

"Nice To Have":

  • Relevant Bachelors, Masters/PhD or equivalent experience desirable
  • Committed and highly driven to achieve objectives
  • Reliable and open-minded with a pragmatic approach to problem solving
  • Flexible, tenacious persistent, pragmatic, and delivery focused
  • Able to understand commercial realities and implications for projects and the company

In Return:

This represents an opportunity to be creative and make a difference. There are also opportunities to actively participate in global conferences and exhibitions within and external to Arm. The right candidate will also get the opportunity to lead, coach, mentor and/or manage other specialists if up for the challenge as and when opportunities arise.
