Overview
The Principal Treasury Analyst is responsible for owning the processes for preparation and production of the Bank's interest rate risk ALM model. The position sits within the Credit Union's Treasury department and reports to the VP of Treasury. The Principal serves as a high level subject matter expert who supports the Treasury Team in all aspects of the Asset Liability Management function including stress testing (liquidity and interest rate risk), ALCO package preparation, and cash management. The Principal works in partnership with and provides back up support to the VP of Treasury. This position is also responsible for ensuring compliance with all internal policies and state and federal regulations related to investments and liquidity.
Responsibilities
- Leads ALM management, cash management, liquidity planning, bank account management, cash forecasting, and ad-hoc projects for the enterprise
- Develops Patelco's cashflow forecast
- Leads deposit analytics to support Patelco's pricing strategy
- Monitors and presents market and economic metrics and presents findings and recommendations to Treasury leadership
- Partners with business units to ensure accurate modeling of member behavior under changing interest rate conditions
- Develops reporting and analytical frameworks for risk measurement and portfolio valuation, and collaborates on automation initiatives.
- Identifies, measures, and manages all Interest Rate Risk (IRR) across the organization
- Collaborates with Treasury team to ensure proper management of IRR and liquidity risk across the organization
- Assists the VP of Treasury in the development of hedge strategies within risk appetite, evaluating alternative strategies and assessing outcomes across various market and behavioral scenarios
- Participates in ad hoc projects that include building dashboards, plans, and metrics
- Ability to effectively communicate and influence at various levels of the organization.
- Strong vendor relations management and ability to interact daily with brokerage firms, bond traders, and account managers
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business management, or accounting
- CFA, FRM or MBA preferred
- 10 years minimum experience in a senior treasury role
- Thorough knowledge of the financial markets, asset liability management, wholesale funding, modeling, financial analysis, and derivative
- Expertise in interest rate management, cash flow forecasting, managing contingent liquidity sources, banking relationships and collateral management
- Liquidity risk management expertise and familiarity with regulatory expectations
- Strong knowledge of bond investments and capital markets, including trade executions and settlement activity
- Experience with credit unions and CUSOs preferred
- Knowledge of Bloomberg Terminal is preferred
- Physical requirements -may require prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Repetitive motions - May require prolonged periods of typing
Target Base Pay
$128,322- $160,411 / per year
