JOB LOCATION: Round Lake, Illinois

POSITION: Principal Engineer

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Baxter Healthcare Corporation is seeking a Principal Engineer with the following duties: Develop computational models to assess mechanical behavior and strength of materials in static and dynamic environments, predict the reliability and device performance over time; Develop system-level models to enable model-based design of electromechanical devices; Develop and expand capabilities to characterize the mechanical response of polymeric materials; Develop and implement advanced programs to assist in analysis of large data, and algorithm development for sensors and power systems within electromechanical devices; Develop state-of-the-art, complex material models and contribute to the development of fluid filtration/exchange through porous media; Create computational models of human physiology to assist in the development of patient health monitoring systems.

Will only supervise the work of others in connection with project duties. No hire/fire responsibilities.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or related field, plus 4 years related experience that must include: Develop computational models to assess mechanical behavior and strength materials in various static and dynamic environments to predict reliability and device performance over time (4 yrs); Develop and expand capabilities to characterize the mechanical response of polymeric materials for medical devices (4 yrs); Develop and implement signal processing programs to process large data for algorithm development for sensors (4 yrs); Create computational models of human physiology to assist in the development of patient health monitoring systems (3 yrs).
