Nutanix's legal team responsible for supporting an exciting range of initiatives, including our product portfolio, privacy and security, as well as business and corporate development, is looking for an experienced Privacy and Data Program Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly adaptable and collaborative team player to join a growing, fast-paced cloud technology company to continue architecting a best-of-breed privacy and data governance program through cross-functional collaboration, education, and automation. You will collaborate across Nutanix to continue to incorporate privacy and data governance best practices across product enterprise functions, engineering, and other orgs - leading data mapping, records of processing, DSARs, KPIs, and tool implementations, while supporting audits, data governance, and other strategic data governance initiatives. This role requires a highly organized, proactive operative with a bias for action, a self-starter who loves and understands privacy and data governance in enterprise technology, builds strong, collaborative relationships with business stakeholders, takes initiative to drive complex, cross-functional projects and is not afraid to step outside of the comfort zone to tackle the task of the day.

Your Role

  • Monitor and improve the effectiveness, maturity, and health of Nutanix's privacy program by tracking and continuously improving our KPIs
  • Lead the privacy legal team's automation and tool deployment efforts to streamline key processes and increase the team's effectiveness
  • Collaborate and assist privacy counsel with cross-functional business teams to help drive privacy compliance and data governance initiatives across the enterprise, including ensuring that privacy policies, privacy by design, and other privacy requirements are implemented across business processes
  • Collaborate closely with the procurement team and privacy counsel to conduct third-party vendor privacy reviews to assess, track, and mitigate privacy risks of new technologies and data processing activities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the enterprise to proactively identify, manage, and mitigate privacy risks across product teams and business processes, including conducting Privacy Impact Assessments and Data Protection Impact Assessments, and assisting with maintaining and updating the Records of Processing
  • Assist privacy counsel with developing and maintaining standards, procedures, and playbooks to ensure and monitor compliance with Nutanix's privacy policies, standards, and legal requirements
  • Participate in internal and external audits and assessments to evaluate compliance with privacy policies, procedures, and compliance standards (e.g. 27001 & 27701)
  • Drive and support company-wide data governance initiatives such as data mapping, data flow management, data retention, data minimization, data subject rights enablement, and records of processing creation and maintenance
  • Handle data subject requests, and support data incident response and data breach notification procedures
  • Develop privacy training materials and conduct privacy training programs to promote a culture of privacy and data protection awareness
  • Manage and improve Nutanix's product feature legal release review process, implementing Privacy by Default and Design

What You Will Bring

  • 5+ years of relevant privacy and data program management experience or similar with a prior track record of implementing and managing privacy compliance initiatives including data mapping, ROPA, and DSAR processes
  • Strategic problem-solving skills with excelling judgment and the flexibility to take on a variety of tasks and challenges
  • Proven ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work and to drive projects to completion autonomously and as part of a team, including across different time zones
  • Substantive knowledge of European, U.S., and international privacy law and global privacy frameworks including GDPR, CCPA, LGPD,and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework
  • Genuine interest in keeping current with the latest global privacy developments and ability to determine applicable impacts to the business
  • Sense of humor, excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills, and superior work ethic. We are looking for a team player
  • Ability to work with stakeholders across various functional areas, including technical engineering teams, willingness to learn in a fast-paced, technical environment, and a passion for cutting-edge technology
  • Experience with the OneTrust tool, or in the deployment or migration of major privacy tools or similar
  • Experience with privacy and data governance program management in cloud computing services and common enterprise systems
  • An understanding of software development processes to assist with advising and influencing engineering stakeholders,
  • One or several IAPP or other industry-recognized privacy, security, or program / project management certification(s)
  • Understanding of security principles, data classification, and privacy enhancing technologies
  • ISO / SOC experience . Global technology company experience

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $ 88,000 and USD $ 175,560 per year.

However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
