About the Role
We're looking for a curious, hardworking, and dedicated Privacy Counsel to join our Privacy team who will be reporting to the Head of Privacy. Your primary responsibility will be to help support sales enablement, negotiate privacy related provisions in support of the commercial legal team, assist in developing our go to market strategies. We also want someone who can help grow and mature how we handle privacy as the business continues to scale.

What you'll do
  • Support and manage the drafting and negotiation positions for a wide range of contracts for high revenue transactions, vendor and Partner agreements including complex commercial agreements, enterprise cloud sales contracts involving global data protection and privacy matters and risk management
  • Managing Privacy Playbooks and fall back positions to reduce deal friction and enable sales
  • Work with supporting teams to ensure that privacy (and compliance) issues as related to sales, vendors and partners are all properly managed and that risks are mitigated
  • Assist and advise Product marketing teams on sales materials
  • Provide training to Commercial Legal and Sales teams
  • Support the overall Privacy Program

What you'll need
  • 5+ year of legal experience advising on technology products
  • Experience at a global company advising on privacy related matters
  • Proven track record of building and scaling an efficient legal support process for Privacy development in a SaaS company
  • Solid understanding of major privacy laws like GDPR, CCPA, CPRA, and/or PIPEDA
  • Strong collaboration skills, including the ability to communicate effectively across cross-functional teams, build consensus among stakeholders, and maintain strong relations at all levels across the organization.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills. This role involves handling multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously, and carrying out those projects to completion in a timely manner
  • The ability to prioritize well, work efficiently, and demonstrate flexibility as workloads fluctuate with minimal direction

  • The reasonably estimated salary is specific to New York and may not be applicable to other locations. The range for this role is between $196,200 (min) - $239,800 (max). Included in the total package is an equity component, this may also include variable compensation. Final compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience
