What You'll Bring:

• Juris Doctorate (JD) degree with 1 to 3 years of experience as a privacy attorney, and membership in at least one US state bar
• Experience with US privacy and data protection laws such as CCPA/CPRA, CPA, VCDPA, and COPPA
• In-house legal experience preferred, particularly in financial services, big data, technology, or other highly regulated industries, ideally providing product counseling and transactional support
• Experience drafting and negotiating various data privacy agreements
• Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite: PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Word, and Excel; experience with OneTrust preferred
• International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) CIPP or similar certifications preferred
• Strong work ethic with the demonstrated ability to prioritize competing demands and accomplish assignments in a timely and independent manner
• Outstanding organizational, analytical, and critical-thinking skills

• True team player; willing to jump in as needed

• High level of ethics and integrity in professional matters, sensitivity for confidentiality, and respect for individuals

Impact You'll Make:

• This role reports into the Privacy Office within TransUnion's Legal function, but will work across various internal functions and business units
• Under moderate oversight, provide legal assistance and guidance regarding ongoing privacy legal matters for TransUnion, particularly in:
  • Assisting with advising on, drafting, and negotiating various privacy-related contracts and contract clauses
  • Working collaboratively with internal cross-functional teams including legal, sales/business development, compliance, information security, information technology, acquisition integration, operations, and product development on various privacy-related legal matters
  • Owning and managing enterprise-wide privacy certifications/ licenses/ industry participation programs, as needed
  • Supporting Privacy Operations team in reviewing legal responses to customer privacy questionnaires/ audits/ surveys
  • Supporting business with legal research and analysis, including changes in the law, and other privacy legal issues that may involve the company's short or long-term strategic operations, existing and new solutions, and helping evaluate risk for business units and leadership
