The Privacy Director position is responsible for overseeing the identification, evaluation, and testing of Information Security privacy and security compliance related controls for Ameris Bank. The position requires strong partnership and collaboration with Business Units and functional areas while simultaneously observing an appropriate degree of independence. This position will assist in the planning, preparation, and performance of activities under the Information Security Program, including identifying risks, performing risk assessments and monitoring and testing. The Privacy Director also creates, maintains, and reviews applicable internal policies, standards, procedures, programs, and issue management. This position will work with the advisory functions to ensure an effective overall program. Performs other projects and duties as assigned.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:

• Manage Information Security-related Privacy and Security Compliance controls and functions

• Ensure Ameris Bank leadership is aware and prepared for current and emerging Privacy and Security Compliance landscape

• Liaison with internal business units, internal and external counsel, and external 3rd parties on Information Security related Privacy and Security Compliance matters

• Review and examine various business units for Information Security compliance with numerous banking regulations, including but not limited to, GLBA, PCI, FFIEC, California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), NYDFS, CFPB, the Electronic Funds Transfer Act, Truth in Savings Act, Truth in Lending Act, Expedited Funds Availability Act, and Unfair and Deceptive Acts and Practices.

• Flexibility to also examine consumer lending regulations on ad-hoc basis. These Regulations include the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Truth in Lending Act, Military Lending Act, Servicemembers Civil Relief Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, and the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:

• Strong ability to interpret and apply various banking regulations, to monitor and test situations and to memorialize issues and observations in detailed reports.

• A strong ability to research and stay current on banking regulations and commentary.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Takes a professional approach relating to others, treats others with consideration and respect regardless of employee level.

• Ability to adapt and manage frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.

• Uses good judgement while making decisions

Industry and Work Experience:

• 8+ years of Information Security experience

• PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Mid-sized Banking Industry experience or greater

Academic:

• High school diploma or GED required

• Bachelor degree preferred

• Relevant Cyber Security or Privacy certifications preferred
