About The Role

G2 is looking for a Privacy Manager who will implement and enforce G2's privacy strategy, including policies, procedures, and initiatives. You will plan and implement privacy training programs and communications and manage compliance monitoring, auditing, and remediation. Additionally, you'll lead research and prepare communications in response to privacy-related events or consumer, government, or media inquiries. 

This is a Hybrid position: Some in-office presence is required to be in-person at our downtown Chicago HQ. 

In This Role, You Will: 

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the organization's privacy program, policies, and procedures.
  • Lead the development of a comprehensive privacy strategy aligned with the company's objectives.
  • Stay current with international and domestic privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and others relevant to our industry.
  • Ensure the organization's compliance with privacy regulations and conduct regular assessments to identify and mitigate privacy risks.
  • Establish and maintain processes for data mapping and classification to identify and protect sensitive data.
  • Implement privacy by design principles and ensure privacy considerations are integrated into projects and processes.
  • Conduct privacy impact assessments (PIAs) and data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) for new projects, processes, and systems.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to address identified privacy risks.
  • Develop and maintain an incident response plan for privacy incidents and data breaches.
  • Lead incident response efforts, including investigation, containment, notification, and reporting as required by law.
  • Develop and deliver privacy training and awareness programs to educate employees and raise privacy consciousness.
  • Oversee the assessment of third-party vendors for privacy compliance.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Privacy, Legal, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in privacy management and regulatory compliance.
  • Thorough knowledge of international and domestic privacy laws and regulations.
  • Strong understanding of data protection principles, risk assessment, and mitigation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.
