Job Description
Rockwell Automation is seeking to hire an individual to manage the company's global privacy compliance program and to provide commercial support for our cyber law program. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Rockwell Automation Commercial Legal Team.
The selected individual will collaborate globally with colleagues from the Office of The General Counsel and from several other functions, including: HR, IT and CISO, Product Security, Sales & Marketing, Finance, Contracts & Negotiation, and Sourcing. The location of the job is preferably in Milwaukee, Wisconsin or Cleveland, Ohio, but other locations can be considered for preferred candidates. You will be reporting to the Assistant General Counsel/General Counsel, Privacy and Cyber Security, based in the US.
The selected individual will be responsible for several key activities, including the following:
- Under the leadership of the Assistant General Counsel/General Counsel Privacy and Cyber Security manage the Global Privacy Program and support commercial negotiations on privacy and cyber related issues;
- Conduct privacy and cyber risk reviews and data protection impact assessments, and the implementation of privacy risk control and mitigation measures;
- Assist with the implementation of the vendor selection, audit and management policies and procedures from the privacy and cyber compliance point of view;
- Assist with personal data breach incidents and the implementation of the data breach handling procedure;
- Assist with the process of responding to data subject rights requests and improving the effectiveness and efficiency of our response program;
- Coordinate privacy related training activities and privacy notices and compliance awareness publications; maintaining the company's privacy intranet site;
- Coordinate and standardize responses to external questionnaires related to the company's privacy program;
- Keep the company's privacy related activities, technology, systems, policies and procedures are implemented, maintained and up to date;
- Work with our global legal team, keep track of evolving privacy, cyber and data protection laws around the globe.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Typically requires 8 years of experience
- Privacy and/or Cyber Security Program management experience;
- Experience in drafting policies and procedures in the areas of privacy and cyber security;
- Core competency around information and cyber security and privacy laws;
- Extensive computer experience and skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Teams are important.
- Experience negotiating commercial legal agreements, including specifically in the areas of privacy and cyber security;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Uncompromising ethics.
- Demonstrated large project or program management experience in a corporate environment;
- Experience in privacy compliance and program management in a corporate environment;
- Experience with cyber laws and regulations and applying them to a commercial enterprise and in commercial negotiations;
- Prior experience in managing and/or collaborating with outside legal counsel or vendors;
- Ability to think strategically and globally about the privacy governance program;
- Excellent communication and organizational skills;
- Ability to adapt, learn quickly and manage multiple priorities;
- Capacity to work independently and display initiative on assigned tasks, while also collaborating with colleagues in different functions and businesses around the globe;
- Strong and uncompromising professional ethics;
- Experience in information security, cybersecurity and/or an information technology background is an advantage, but not a must;
- Selected individual will be expected to have a strong interest in privacy, cybersecurity, compliance, and information technology and systems;
- Prior experience with privacy technology solutions and tools is preferred.
