Private Wealth Controller, Vice President

Purpose of Position

This role is in the Business Operations team, which is led by the Head of Business Operations. The team has been established to facilitate the operational requirements of servicing the bespoke private wealth channel which includes servicing high net worth investors into our flagship funds and working on new initiatives and products. The function is also responsible for the finance and operations of Pantheon Securities, LLC.

Reporting to: Head of Business Operations

Key Responsibilities

• Work alongside the Head of Business Operations and other key stakeholders to design and establish operating models for new private wealth initiatives , including system and service provider selections
• Support and oversee the firm’s private wealth products in a financial controller and operational capacity including but not limited to the review of designated fund NAV reviews, fund accounting oversight, process, and procedure reviews
• Build financial models and projections to present profitability, relevant costs and evaluate internal resource requirements
• Monitor profitability for private wealth initiatives and provide financial guidance on new initiatives and fee arrangements
• Support the Investor Relations teams in client pitches and onboarding, as required.
• Develop strong relationships with internal departments and third-party service providers
• Coordinate relevant Due Diligence meetings for third-party service providers
• Lead and/or oversee annual audit processes for designated private wealth products and US businesses
• Oversee expenses related to private wealth product investment activity
• Oversee existing private wealth product operating models challenging status quo and continuously seek efficiency and productivity
• Establish key performance metrics and analytics reports to track progress, ensure compliance with regulations, and keep senior fund managers informed on designated products
• Lead and/or participate and prepare analysis for any relevant committees, for example, Operational Risk Committee, Valuations Committees, Investment Committees etc
• Work with others to ensure group policies are adhered to and that existing procedures/practices and processes are refined to reduce operational risk.
• Learn portfolio and investment strategy for designated private wealth products
• Oversee the Finance and Operations responsibilities of the firm’s Broker Dealer, Pantheon Securities, LLC
• Complete other ad-hoc projects and tasks from time to time.

Knowledge and Experience Required

Technical

• Recognised accounting qualification, including deep knowledge on Fair Value accounting
• Strong technical accounting skills and be driven to keep abreast with current requirements
• Experience with 40 Act registered funds in an operational product management capacity
• Broad knowledge of private market investments, and the processes involved in servicing these funds
• Significant experience in an operations environment
• Significant experience servicing private wealth investors through registered investment advisors, wire-houses and/or private banks
• The ability to lay out processes, controls & procedures in simple, clear formats including data flows, controls matrices, etc.
• Ability to prioritize and manage own workload and that of others
• Experience in initiating and steering process change and improvement projects
• Excellent organisation and planning skills
• Experience in a leadership or management role
• Clear understanding of regulatory environment and sensitivity to maintaining compliance
• Experience supporting or project managing audits of private market assets and/or highly regulated products
• Series 7, 63 and 24 preferred, willingness to get regulatory licenses as required
