The Process Engineer will play an important role in the department, maintaining systems and performing tasks and activities that support our continuous improvement (CI) processes and culture. This role will help with data collection, ensure its accuracy, promote CI progress and keep track of the departmental KPI scorecards.
The role holder will provide technical & engineering support on the Marlbrook site (impacting the UK chocolate network) whilst working with Safety, Quality, Operational, Projects, Contractor and Management colleagues.
The Process Engineer will carry out investigation of chronic issues, conceptual design of process modifications, commissioning of new equipment and apply Six Sigma principles to deliver continuous improvements to crumb making and ancillary services on site.
The Process Engineer will act as gatekeeper to help ensure compliance with safety, quality and environmental requirements during day-to-day activities and during design, trials or commissioning.
As well as colleagues at Marlbrook, the Process Engineer will work alongside Mondelez colleagues that are based in global locations, and will work closely with Research & Development at Bournville.
How you will contribute

• Designs for New Product Development and factory development projects are scoped, working closely with the Project Engineering Team.
• Detailed engineering design and specifications to meet requirements of safety, quality and hygiene at optimum output and efficiency, and lowest cost.
• Systems are reverse engineered where information does not exist.
• Existing practices, methods and technology are challenged and opportunities to improve factory productivity, safety and quality are proactively sought.
• Technical & engineering input and support is provided to drive the site's commercial and operational performance objectives.
• Plants are commissioned to achieve specified quality and output targets within the commissioning timescales in line with IIM and CQV requirements.
• Solutions to problems are recommended so that they can be designed out to reduce operating costs, improve product quality, and improve safety performance.
• Coaching, development & support is provided to other members of the team, factory based technical personnel (and to the wider Mondelez organisation if required / appropriate).

Support and expertise in the application of GMP and Sanitary design standards across the sites is provided, developing and sharing best practices across the Mondelez network.

• Ability to motivate and develop onsite personnel and communicate across a broad range of management levels and functional areas.
• Ability to organise your own time, manage your own agenda around site priorities.
• Experience in a high-volume manufacturing industry, preferably food, beverages or pharmaceutical.
• High level fault-finding capability.
• Experience in working with Milk Evaporators, CIP systems, Milk processing preferable.
• Significant experience in the identification and delivery of process improvement practices.
• Demonstrable continual professional development
• Computer skills - spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel), word processing (Microsoft Word), presentations (PowerPoint), SAP, PLC Software (Rockwell preferable) & SCADA screens.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

Qualification Requirements
The following qualifications are desirable for this role.

• BEng/MEng in Chemical or Process engineering
• Chartered status or relevant operational engineering experience
