Process Engineer

Job Description:

Do you get a rush out of identifying and solving issues to ensure a smoothly running production plant?

Huntsman is currently looking for an experienced Process Engineer who will be responsible for running the day-to-day Process engineering activities within our Rotterdam site. Together with our experienced Operators you will be at the forefront in monitoring, running, optimizing and improving our key Upstream plants.

As a Process Engineer you will work together in a dynamic environment with a broad range of departments, with the aim of creating value through teamwork. These departments include amongst others EHS, Operations, Engineering, Automation, Maintenance and Supply Chain.

Our site Process Engineering team focusses on providing required expertise for both operations and strategic site projects whilst working towards ambitious targets for safety, Operational Excellence, Sustainability and effective project execution.

Additionally, as a Process Engineer, you will:

• Follow up on longer term performance risks experienced in our plants, by taking ownership, and actively managing cooperation with other disciplines.
• Conduct Root Cause Problem Solving to identify and revolve issues.
• Liase with the operational shifts and our Global Excellence team and assist in the roll- out of best practices and projects/improvement initiatives.
• Initiate and design plant modifications ensuring that plant specifics and process safety requirements are included, following commissioning of these projects.
• Provide process related corrective maintenance scope for Turnaround execution and support the development of the plant preventative maintenance program.
• Support process automation initiatives in our journey to further automate our processes.
• Champion energy saving initiatives and follow up on Sustainability performance of the plants.
• Contribute to further development of the Plant Operating instructions and knowledge management process.

Requirements:

• MSc qualified in Chemical / Process Engineering with a minimum of 3-5 years relevant industry experience in a production environment.
• Strong analytical and conceptual thinker who can work effectively as part of a dynamic team, communicating at all levels.
• Has both root cause analysis capability as forward looking skills.
• Be able to demonstrate process safety skills such as leading Hazard Studies, LOPA, RCA and Relief and Blowdown studies.
• Excellent appreciation for EHS and Process Safety Standards within a high hazard environment is essential.
• High level of adaptability with the ability to manage changing circumstances and ambiguity within a production environment.
• Must be familiar with the Project Process Workflow and Management of Change.
• Must be fluent in both Dutch and English
