Summary/Objective
In this brand-new exciting role the Process Improvement and Engineering Manager will be responsible for the ongoing building and maintaining of equipment and ensuring high performance and quality in our new manufacturing plant located in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
Reporting into the Plant General Manager, the Process Improvement and Engineering Manager will effectively lead the design process of manufacturing quality products that meet and exceed our customer's expectations, while also ensuring we remain profitable and meet and exceed company goals and quotas.
What you’ll be doing:Â
- Work closely with our Partners to ensure the plant is up and running on the current planned dates, at rated output and costs.Â
- Develop overall processes and plans for building and maintaining equipment, both preventative and reactive.
- Develop and execute the staffing plans in support of engineering efforts for the facility.
- Drive key line performance metrics to budget and build a plan for continuous improvement by employing LEAN and Six Sigma principles into the processes and using data to drive decisions.
- Work closely with the Product Engineering team to develop the product and incoming process specs for the plant.Â
- Propose and Implement equipment safety changes, working closely with our partners.
- Design and install additional equipment, as needed, to support production plans and product diversity.
- Capital project planning and execution.
- Oversee the development of training and standard work to facilitate production and quality goals.
- People management of the Engineering and Maintenance team.
- Design, implement and manage the operational processes for the plant.
- Design, implement, track and analyze key process data and use it to drive additional process output and productivity.
- Actively collaborate with the plant and operations team to deliver key metrics and implement new products and processes.
Skills/Qualifications:
- 10+ years experience as Plant Engineering Manager in an automated plant environment with facility startup experience.
- Strong technical capabilities with at least a BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Preferred)
- Experience in managing equipment and building maintenance.
- Demonstrated, highly effective people manager.
- Strong and effective communications skills.
- Quality Management experience.
- Demonstrated experience with LEAN and Six Sigma concepts.
- Demonstrated project management experience.
- Ability to interact with all employees in the organization
- Champion constraint analysis and coordinate activities to eliminate the bottlenecks.
- Experience with networked communication and data collection systems and software.
- Ability to develop KPIs and drive improvements.
