The Role
The Process Improvement Manager - Preroll will provide oversite, direction and technical/training support to our Site teams and Engineering resources for all processes associated with Pre-roll production and quality improvement. A primary goal of this role is the development of optimized processes and human-machine solutions for our sites to support the team's efforts to deliver outstanding Quality pre-roll products, with scale and efficiency, to our clients and patients. This role will play a pivotal strategic role in the Early Management process - helping usher priority projects from a successful IQ delivered by Construction, through a full OQ/PQ validation and hand-off to the site production teams. They will also lead efforts to deliver productivity improvements and Quality enhancements through application of FMEA tools and the Process Engineering discipline. The right candidate for this role will possess a unique combination of skills: ability to work with a diverse team across all locations and all levels of the organization, extensive real-world engineering in hands-on applications, Cannabis regulatory involvement, influence skills applied to a diverse peer group, and strong leadership and people-development skills for a team spread geographically around the Enterprise. A passion for our product and our patients and clients will be key to long-term success.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Coordinate EM activities for novel Pre-roll applications
  • Deliver start-up management excellence to selected project efforts
  • Work with Engineering on strategic solution development (Equipment & Process)
  • Work with cross functional teams to establish and launch new pre-roll concepts across the enterprise
  • Deliver ongoing training to sites on Pre-roll applications, quality improvements and efficiency
  • Recurring audits of Pre-roll quality through the eyes of the client across all sites
  • Establish efficiency and output targets with each GM and incorporate into 90-day plans
  • Ensures constant updates are provided to the VP of Production, Director - Process Improvement and General Managers on the status of projects and improvement efforts in the facilities
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Cannabis experience preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 5+ years managing professional Operations and Engineering efforts
  • Knowledgeable of TPM-based continuous improvement methodology
  • Knowledgeable of Engineering problem solving
  • Able to diagnose complex technical systems and develop simple human-machine interface and training solutions for optimal operations
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgement, common sense and resourcefulness
  • Adapts and thrives in a demanding, start-up, fast-paced environment
  • Possesses a high level of critical thinking
  • Operates with a high level of professionalism and integrity, including dealing with confidential information
  • Must understand and comply with the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of GTI
  • Must have a solid understanding of the Medical Marijuana laws, rules and regulations set forth by the state; a pursuit to further their understanding and knowledge of the industry and the laws

Additional Requirements
  • Must pass any and all required background checks
  • Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
  • Must possess valid driver's license
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
  • Must be approved by the D.O.A. to receive an Agent badge

Working Conditions
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS: May be required to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 75 pounds (200 pounds with assistance)
  • This role will require extensive travel 3 to 4 days per week to support sites across the enterprise
