About the Job-Procurement Intern

Dawn’s Inspire Internship Program offers students a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the dynamic world of the Global Bakery Industry. With over 100 years of expertise, Dawn provides a platform for interns to experience our vibrant company culture, embrace our core values, and gain valuable knowledge for their future careers. The Procurement Intern position will be responsible in working with members of the procurement department to work cross-functionally to enact identified cost savings or efficiency projects. The person for this position will gain experience and understanding of procurements roll within Dawn and the dependencies with other departments.

Dawn Inspire Internship Program interns will benefit from:

• Opportunities to develop new skills and gain hands-on experience through meaningful projects and assignments.

This is a remote opportunity.

Travel will be required during the initial week (5/20) and the concluding week (8/5) of the internship. There may also be a possibility of additional weeks being added during the internship's duration. 

What Does It Take to be an Intern at Dawn Foods? 

Below are the minimum qualifications for the Dawn Inspire Internship Program.

• Must be pursuing a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Supply Chain with an interest in working in the Consumer Product Goods or Food industry. Current academic status must reflect good performance in relation to institutional academic standards.
• Candidate should be heading into their junior year or later.
• Strong interest in the industry or field related to the internship.
• Basic knowledge of relevant concepts, principles, and tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges.
• Adaptability and willingness to embrace feedback and eagerness to learn and take on new challenges.

• Conduct research on assigned topics and present findings to the team.
• Collaborate with team members to brainstorm ideas and contribute to problem-solving efforts.

• Actively seek opportunities to learn and develop new skills relevant to your career goals.
• Take initiative to suggest process improvements and contribute innovative ideas.
• throughout the duration of the Internship Program. 
• Identified projects that you will be responsible for:
  • Cost Optimization projects
  • Procurement Procedures Continuous Improvement
• Spend Analytics and Data Scrubbing responsibilities.
• Demonstrate the “Dawn Values” of Team Dawn and support our culture.

• Required to exert physical effort in handling objects 25 pounds.  
• Normal setting for this job is office environment.

Compensation:

• Undergraduate - $20/hr
• Graduate - $22/hr
