Procurement Manager

Responsibilities:

• Developing sound, cost-effective strategies for the procuring fresh produce from Peru for US markets
• Maintaining relationships with suppliers while continually scouting for additional growers
• Evaluating spending operations while seeking ways to improve and enhance the quality of products purchased and the timeliness of deliveries
• Communicating with management regularly regarding the efficient flow of goods and services affecting production
• Conducting cost analyses and setting benchmarks for improvement
• Developing risk management procedures to mitigate losses in the event of product shortages
• Supervising a purchasing team and delegating tasks across departments when necessary
• Working closely with the company legal department to make sure contracts and terms are favorable

Requirements

• 4-5 Years of experience procuring fresh produce for large exporter or importer company in Peru, for the US
• Most relevant commodities: Avocados and Berries. Other commodities relevant to the position: Grapes, Asparagus, Mangoes
• Needs to be knowledgeable of the Peruvian landscape of growers and exporters for the most relevant commodities, and quality requirements for exporting to the US
• English level: Advanced
