Role SummaryÂ
Our client is searching for a Procurement Specialist to join their Supply Chain team. The Procurement Specialist is a key role responsible for managing and optimizing complex procurement processes. The position involved developing strategic sourcing initiatives, negotiating and managing high-value contracts, and maintaining strong vendor relationships. This role requires broad expertise in procurement best practices.Â

Strategic Sourcing and Cost ManagementÂ

Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans to optimize costs, mitigate risks, and enhance overall procurement efficiencyÂ

Identify and assess potential suppliers, fostering relationships to secure competitive advantagesÂ

Implement cost-effective procurement strategies without compromising qualityÂ

Establish and manage procurement budgets, analyzing spending patterns and identifying opportunities for cost reductionÂ

Contract Negotiation and ManagementÂ

Lead negotiations for high-value contracts, ensuring favorable terms and conditionsÂ

Monitor and manage supplier contracts, identify opportunities for cost savings and performance improvementÂ

Maintain a portfolio of complex suppliers and oversee demand planningÂ
-
Vendor Relationship ManagementÂ

Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and partnersÂ
-
Conduct regular performance reviews and collaborate with vendors to drive continuous improvementÂ

Collaborate with the Data Management team on vendor maintenance, including pricing tiers, promotions, and points of contactÂ

Support the Accounts Payables team to ensure prompt payments status with vendorsÂ

Cross-Functional CollaborationÂ

Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance, operations and project management, to understand procurements needs and align strategies accordinglyÂ

Provide procurement expertise and guidance to cross-functional teamsÂ

Procurement Process Optimization and Operational EfficiencyÂ

Oversee the end-to-end procurement process, identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practiceÂ
-
Ensure compliance with procurement policies, industry regulations, and legal requirementsÂ

Manage the procurement process from requisition to delivery, optimizing efficiency and reducing lead teamsÂ

Implement and maintain procurement best practices, including ERP demand planning checklists, automated replenishment plans (ARPS, and warehouse transfersÂ

Supervise service desk tickets and respond to business requests within agreed SLAsÂ
-
Risk ManagementÂ

Identify and assess risks in the supply chain and develop strategies to mitigate potential disruptionsÂ
-
Stay informed about market trends and global events that may impact procurement activitiesÂ
-
Team Leadership and MentorshipÂ

Provide leadership to the procurement team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvementÂ

Mentor and develop team members, facilitating training and skill enhancementÂ

Technology UtilizationÂ

Utilize procurement technologies and tools to streamline processes and enhance efficiencyÂ

Stay abreast of technological advancements in procurement and recommend relevant tools for adoptionÂ
Skills & QualificationsÂ
-
Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field; advanced degree preferredÂ
-
Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in procurement, with a significant focus on the fulfillment/warehousing sectorÂ
-
Proven track record in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and vendor managementÂ
-
Strong understanding of procurement technologies and best practicesÂ
-
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skillsÂ
-
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentÂ
This role is remote, but the candidate must be able to work on Central Standard Time.
