Procurement/Logistics Manager
Job Description
Position Summary: ReconCraft is seeking a Procurement/Logistics Manager coordinates the procurement, distribution, and inventory of materials, parts, equipment, and supplies, ensuring timely delivery and effective cost management. Responsible for proper delivery of our product as well as proper use of planning tools to perform position functions. Issues RFQs and performs cost evaluations. Performs price and lead time negotiations with suppliers. Generates and tracks purchase orders. Leads the warehouse team. Works closely with all departments to ensure parts and components are in stock.
This hands-on role requires exceptional competence in procurement practices and an understanding of all complex fabrication processes and all phases of manufacturing involved with marine vessel production.

Essential Job Functions:
- Coordinates activities related to procurement of components and supplies beginning with intent to purchase through delivery in an ISO 9001:2015 certified environment
- Analyzes the requirements of the procurement, including preliminary specifications, preferred supplier, and date an item is needed
- Issues purchase orders/contracts that comply with company and government regulations using our Deltek ERP system; Ensures delivery, price, and quality meet expectations
- Coordinates appropriate methods needed to distribute commodity in a cost-effective manner; ensures accurate retention of records
- Reviews quality problems with Quality Management and Engineering teams and directs action required to correct defects, including updates to the bill of materials
- Investigates potential suppliers to determine if they meet the specified requirements. Solicits and evaluates proposals for the requested items/services; Participates in supplier negotiations; Advises team members or management on the appropriate supplier to be used
- Plans for the purchase of special engineering projects and coordinates with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of completed product
- Coordinate and supervise kitting by ESWBS/BOM groups for inventory and delivery to production departments
- Conducts periodic and special surveys of supplier facilities and manufacturing processes to determine adequacy and capability of quality control and ability to comply with engineering and quality specifications
- Key member of the supplier risk management team in accordance with our Supply Chain Risk Management plan
- Prepares periodic and special reports concerning team activities, corrective action requirements as it relates to suppliers and their quality systems, schedules, and rejected items
- Oversee and maintain ERP modules for purchasing/acquisition/inventory
- May travel occasionally, primarily in the local area
- Works closely with all departments and team members to ensure production stays on schedule
- Takes on new responsibilities as required

Essential Job Requirements:
- Education:
- Associate’s degree or 5+ years’ experience as a procurement/logistics team member in a manufacturing environment
- Required Knowledge/Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing and assembly production environment
- Knowledge of planning, scheduling, budgeting, inventorying, and performance measurement systems and their applications
- Keen attention to detail, manufacturing knowledge, and shop order planning
- Must demonstrate complete understanding and application of planning concepts and principles to production tasks
- Strong project planning, scheduling, cost analysis, and organizational skills
- Expertise with the Microsoft Office software package. Required Microsoft Excel skills include formulas, table building, and rules/conditional formatting.
- Strong attention to detail and quality deliverables
- Experience with ERP/MRP and/or computerized inventory systems
- Excellent organization and time management, along with outstanding verbal and written communication skills that can influence all levels of the organization
- Ability to work with vendors, customers, and employees. Basic financial analysis skills, including new product cost estimates
- Employee must be a "U.S. Person" as defined Code of Federal Regulations, Title 22, Section 120.15
- Preferred Knowledge/Experience:
- Experience working in government contracting environment or on government vessel programs with FAR and DFAR purchasing requirements
- Background in marine manufacturing
- Experience with the following types of management software: Deltek Costpoint
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations in a manufacturing environment
- Physical Requirements:
- Perform manual labor as required, including lifting up to 50lbs, working outside, and standing for long periods of time
- Use of forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks
- Effectively and safely perform demanding work in support of company and client objectives
- Must also be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to complete tasks
- Ability to work long hours, when required, to meet deadlines and/or other deliverables

- Office and heavy industrial manufacturing environment
- Heavy workload handling concurrent programs, multiple priorities, timeframes, and deadlines
