The ProDesign Group Manager is a working role, both overseeing the ProDesign team, managing multiple projects to ensure deadlines are met and performing production and design tasks as needed. An expert in print and digital mediums while working in Adobe Creative Suite with the ability to take concepts and produce high quality assets. The ProDesign Group Manager is accountable for the scheduling of tasks within the ProDesign team and providing team training and feedback for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to lead a group of graphic designers and work well within a team environment
  • Collaborate well with the team
  • Provide clear and concise feedback to the designers
  • Mentor graphic designers
  • Communicate effectively in-person, on Teams, via phone, or using email, write clearly and accurately
  • Strong verbal and written skills and ability to present concepts and designs to larger group
  • A hands-on design expert and individual contributor
  • Outstanding design mastery with the ability to innovate while adhering to brand requirements
  • Prioritize multiple projects and manage teams to efficiently stay on time and on budget
  • Provide updates on project status and escalate any potential to miss deadlines
  • Balance frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedules
  • Maintaining a positive professional demeanor
  • Develop new workflows and quality control measures to ensure standards are met
  • Keen eye and attention to details
  • Take feedback and develop and revise design solutions as needed
  • Strong understanding of business objectives and ability to both articulate these to other project team members and assess whether they have been met
  • Ability to take initiative and problem solve
  • Understand the strategic thinking behind projects
  • Make file corrections as needed, preflight and release artwork and color proofs to external vendors
  • Remain current with changes in software, design trends, as well as new developments within industry
  • Develop and maintain design standards with a comprehensive understanding of brand guidelines
  • Serve as brand guardian, ensuring creative standards are met across all customer-facing content 
  • Regularly review the status of projects with leadership


Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Graphic Design, Interactive or Communications/Advertising required
  • 8+ years of design or advertising agency experience
  • Proven experience of creative leadership and people management
  • Ability to execute concepts to delivery across multiple print and digital platforms
  • Design and technical skills that aid in the development of assets that align with business strategies
  • Extraordinary design taste
  • Excellent typographic skills
  • Expert knowledge in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Animate, HTML and CSS
  • Self-motivated and high level of accountability to develop and adhere to schedules; prioritize workload; and work in a fast paced, challenging, and continually evolving environment

In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is starting from $82,000.00.
