Job Description
Sage is on a mission to improve the quality of life for older adults, starting with those residing in senior living facilities. Falls are the leading cause of injury-related deaths among adults over 65. At the same time, fall prevention and emergency response systems for older adults are archaic and ineffective. This issue is exacerbated by the inefficient procedures that operators of these facilities are forced to use to provide care to their residents. Sage's integrated software aims to reinvent how we care for and respond to older adults in times of need. We aim to build a platform that gives caregivers the means to provide care for modern aging.
Sage is a small, tight team of ambitious, multi-disciplinary entrepreneurs. We are a software-enabled, mission-driven company, and are focused only on the problems that are central to achieving that mission. At Sage, we work hard and fast but also know that to build a truly important company, we need to treat our work as a marathon, and not a sprint. The journey matters. We know when to slow down, take breaks, and have fun.
About The RoleSage will be rapidly scaling the number of customer facilities that we onboard and operate in through the end of this year, and there will be a lot of product usage data to sift through. We are seeking a Product Analyst who will become an expert in our data model to help us derive actionable insights, further enabling Sage to help assisted living facilities improve care for their residents.
The Product Analyst will be integrated directly into the Product team and will help us to understand ongoing trends and user behaviors. You will become the point of contact of both our frontend and backend analytics platforms, independently exploring our data to answer business questions and collaborating with engineering to inform and understand upcoming changes to the data model. You should consider yourself to be fluent with data, ready to define funnels, do cohort analyses, and lay the groundwork for investigating long term trends.
Some projects that you might work on:
- Identify crucial product, billing, and device health KPIs.
- Build intuitive internal dashboards to track KPIs, enabling all team members to track our success and identify Sage’s opportunities for change and growth.
- Update and maintain customer facing analytics platform, including adding features as necessary to support client expansion.
- Work with our implementation team to identify the data sources and data model for each new client, and design the transformation to Sage’s data model.
- Partner with Engineering and Product to define requirements for instrumenting new features in our user-facing care app.
- As needed, review and update the data analysis that informs client invoicing.
Salary range: $90,000 - $130,000 depending on experience, plus equity and other benefits.
We have a strong preference for NYC-based candidates. All candidates must be based in the US or eligible to work in the US without visa sponsorship.
About YouMust Haves- You bring a minimum of 2 years experience in data analysis or business intelligence.
- You can refine an ambiguous business question, deconstructing it into tangible steps. You write SQL queries to acquire the needed data to accurately answer that question.
- You are an expert user of SQL, ideally Postgres.
- You have experience using web analytics tools (e.g. Mixpanel, Amplitude, Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics).
- You thrive in a cross functional role, partnering with multiple stakeholders to identify, refine, and communicate data-driven insights.
- You’re eager to jump in and manage your work independently, with the humility and self-awareness to know when to ask for help. You see obstacles as interesting problems to solve rather than blockers.
- You’re excited about working in a startup environment and taking on multiple challenges, often simultaneously.
- A bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field: e.g. Math, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or Engineering.
- Data analysis or business intelligence experience for a user-facing software product.
- You have experience with R, Python + Pandas/Numpy, or similar data analysis framework.
- You are competent in at least one data visualization tool like Metabase, Tableau, or Looker. You have used this tool to explain data to non-technical stakeholders in a professional context.
