Product Analyst

Summary:
We are seeking a WordPress support person to be part of the team as we continue to create and maintain 80+ news sites and build advanced features in our in-house built WordPress platform. While the primary responsibility of this position is to support the content platforms, there will be opportunities for personal development and the chance to work alongside senior engineers, project managers and product managers on various teams. This person needs to be able to help a wide range of customers troubleshoot issues and maintain documentation for training purposes.
What you will do:

• Monitor helpdesk and respond to support tickets. Close the loop on these requests if they require development solutions
• Add and remove users to sites and clusters as requested. Walk new users through account creation and troubleshoot login issues with users
• Update menus, navs, footers as needed
• Maintain an updated list of site plugins, features and launches for all WP sites
• Replicate issues reported by sites to create issues developers can work on, complete with URLs and videos as possible
• Train users as needed
• Create and update documentation as needed
• Implement new features in admin as needed when changes roll out across sites; make tag and category changes across sites as needed
• Build pages and edit as needed
• Provide feedback on internal tools for additional development support

What you will bring:

• A solid foundation in WordPress, its inner workings, common issues, community, and proper use-cases
• Intellectual curiosity and eagerness to learn and work with the development teams to support product & development initiatives
• Some WordPress, HTML and PHP experience
• Journalism background is a plus
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required
• 2 years related experience
• Good writing and communication skills

The annual salary range is $72,000-$75,000. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, time in role, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, MediaNews Group offers a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, and a 401K plan (all benefits are based on eligibility).
