Product Analyst
Job Description
This role is key to supporting Surgalign through our next phases of growth in Digital Health by driving R&D to rapidly innovate, gain insights into customer pain points, and identify our largest product improvement opportunities. The Product Analyst understands Surgalign's business vision and leads the translation of the program strategy into tangible and valuable products. You will be responsible for breaking down product roadmap features into user stories and requirements, and you will coordinate with the Scrum teams on prioritizing and refining their technology backlogs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with Product Management to better define product roadmap features
- Translate product roadmap features into user stories and more detailed requirements. Maintain product requirement documents and other lifecycle documentation
- Collaborate with the Product Design team to appropriately capture feature workflows and UI/UX details in user stories and requirements.
- Identify and scope new digital capabilities/enhancements by understanding end-user needs and stakeholder priorities
- Provide guidance and direction to development teams by prioritizing backlog items and defining sprint goals
- Lead development teams through backlog refinements to clarify backlog items and obtain estimations
- Collaborate with the cross-functional project team during scoping and release planning. Aid Project Management in organizing product releases and identifying priorities and dependencies.
- Aid in the creation of dashboards and reports of sprint and release progress (team velocity, story/feature completion, etc) for use during sprint reviews and capacity planning
- Interview/shadow clinical users to gain user insights
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent requirements writing skills
- Ability to act as a leader in communicating conceptual ideas and product rationale
- Ability to communicate with technical teams regarding high-level architecture concepts and design tradeoffs
- Proficiency with Agile Project Management tools (ex: Jira or Azure DevOps)
- Familiarity with Product Prioritization Frameworks (ex: Value vs Effort, RICE, Story Mapping)
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience as a product analyst, product manager, or product owner.
- 3+ years of experience working within an agile development process.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
- Certified Scrum Product Owner.
- Experience working on cloud-native software products.
- Experience working on AI and Machine Learning products.
- Experience working in the medical device industry and medical imaging.
- Experience in the clinical arena of spine or brain.
- Experience with the user-centered design process and UI/UX.
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI and/or Power Automate.

This position may require the use of personal protective equipment during various tasks/activities including but not limited to, gloves, masks, and safety glasses.
