What you'll be doing:

  • Assisting Product Management, Software Engineers and Architects execute on strategies to deliver value and innovation to our customers.
  • Writing requirements, creating user stories and providing support in daily stand-ups and SCRUM meetings.
  • Contributing as a sounding board to a Product Manager or the Business Lead on setting priorities and coordinating feature backlogs for Sprint planning.
  • Enhancing and/or developing First Orion empire products and services.
  • Data analysis, reporting, and technology implementations using industry leading principles, methodologies, and programs.
  • Leading the effort in translation of software features into technical requirements.
  • Serving as an extension to the Product Management Team and uses the tools of record and methodology set forth by the Product Management Community Leader throughout the Software Development Lifecycle.
  • Researching and developing an understanding of First Orion's products, tools, and processes
  • Working closely with the development team to clarify documented requirements and understanding the architecture and interfaces necessary to meet all business and product designs and requirements.
  • Backlog grooming and participating in grooming sessions with Product Managers
  • Using the Agile Methodology and Scrum within the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Ensuring product requirements and user stories are in synch with production level services and Products
  • Ensuring product requirements and enhancements are logged and managed in Confluence and Jira application instances for purposes of product roadmap planning
  • Managing and maintaining Jira backlogs for each product/instance to ensure that features are managed and scheduled for current and future development sprints and align to ongoing roadmap planning activity
  • Prioritization of stories and epics with Product Management
  • Working with business stakeholders to design both business and product health KPIs for alert monitoring and reporting for products, solutions, and internal systems
  • Assisting with the validation and delivery of products or enhancements
  • Performing high-level testing to discern if the success criteria are met for the product, solution or system developed
  • Clearly defining User Stories and Acceptance Criteria of new products and features
  • Providing post-project support
  • Triaging/troubleshooting problems
  • Issuing/bug tracking
  • Efficient and Effective Solution Delivery Process
  • Promoting Continuous Improvement using customer, stakeholder, and business lead feedback, as well as intake of industry standard shifts

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative or business field (Marketing, Business, Math, Computer Science) or related degree programs (e.g. Instructional design) and/or 3-5 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with requirements definition and data/data products
  • Working knowledge of software development and structured data
  • Ability to communicate findings
  • Project management skills
  • Extensive analytic, business, and product defining skills
  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite

  • Prior Internships completed
  • Knowledgeable in the Agile Methodology and Scrum
  • Knowledgeable with Atlassian Software Development Suite (Confluence/Jira/Bit Bucket)
  • Knowledgeable in building business models and forecasting
  • Telecom experience
