Product Analyst

We are looking for a Product Analyst to join our growing team.  You will play a central role in exploring our small business data asset for insights, investigating new sources of data and developing quantitative benchmarks for our product.

The Role:

As a Product Analyst, you will work closely with Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Data Science teams and use your data analysis abilities to showcase the power of our small and medium businesses data as part of our marketing outreach efforts, sales conversations, customer pilot projects and collaborations with data scientists. You will also collaborate with our Engineering and Data Science teams to support product development.

We stand by the power of our data and you will create impact by helping us demonstrate it to external stakeholders. The ideal candidate is motivated by seeking out the business value of data and gaining experience in product development and go-to-market efforts, looking deeply into the specifics of data and checking it against real-world values, and distilling problems down to the simplest solvable core.

We are looking for someone who will:

• Own and lead data analysis projects to generate the insights that drive our product forward
• Act as the vanguard of product and DS research by understanding requirements and prototyping paths to achieving those requirements, including learning cutting edge techniques in machine learning where applicable
• Tell data-driven stories to be published on the Enigma blog and various news outlets
• Present analyses to and engage with customers alongside Sales and Customer Success teams 
• Conduct analyses that demonstrate the full power of our data for an external audience 
• Evaluate and research the value of new data sources
• Create notebooks and processes for non-technical members to perform analyses themselves
• Gain experience and train in developing tools and reports using best-in-class tech stack and infrastructure
• Make an impact on Enigma’s growth from day one

Our ideal candidate will:

• Have strong analytical and quantitative skills and the ability to extract, manipulate and analyze data
• Bring strong business intuition to make sense of complex business data
• Have proficiency in one or two data wrangling tools for tabular data, at least some familiarity with SQL
• Possess attention to detail and the ability to gather requirements, plan analysis and manage a project end-to-end
• Bring empathy to see things through the eyes of multiple stakeholders, such as prospective customers, journalists, small business owners as well as technical and non-technical colleagues to create outputs addressing their needs
• Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills to translate data analysis for non-technical audiences 
• Be curious, coachable, reliable, and driven for growth

Bonus points if you:

• Bring experience in a consulting, project/product management, or data analyst role is ideal, but we’re prepared to invest in training in both technical skills and go-to-market abilities

Salary Range: $80,000-$150,000

A note on salary ranges: we pride ourselves on paying competitively for our size and industry. Salary is one piece of a total Enigma compensation package that includes additional benefits and opportunities. All of our compensation packages include equity because we believe 100% of Enigma employees should have the option to purchase ownership in the company and benefit from the value we’re creating together.
