- Role Purpose/Summary:
The purpose of the Product Analyst is to ensure that the product is developed, enhanced and maintained based on the deep understanding of the customer needs by obtaining the voice of customers and working closely with Product Management, System Architects, Software Development teams, and other stakeholders.
You will be responsible for understanding the product vision, roadmap, and strategy and translating them into actionable user stories and enablers from which development work can be completed. Additionally, you will maintain the team backlog, prioritize backlog items, accept user stories, and provide feedback to the team.
- Key Responsibilities:
1. Requirement Gathering and Prioritization:
a) Work closely with the Product Manager to gather, refine and prioritize product requirements based on data insights and business objectives
b) Collaborate to the creation of the product roadmap and product lifecycle
2. User research and feedback:
a) Conduct and analyze user research to understand customer needs, pain points and preferences.
b) Translate findings into user stories
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
a) Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Technology, Business, Marketing, Sales & Commercial to align product goals with business objectives
b) Communicate data insights and product performance findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
4. Competitive and Market Analysis
a) Collaborate with inputs to market and competition analysis, identify trends and market demand.
5. Performance Monitoring
a) Track product performance KPIs such as user engagement, satisfaction, quality reports
6. Generate product insights
a) Analyze data related to product usage, customer behavior, and market trends to identify opportunities for product improvement
b) Provide insights to help product team make informed decisions regarding product features, enhancements, fixes, etc.
Required Qualifications/experience:
- Proficient English spoken and written
- Open to domestic/international travel (up to 25% of the time)
Demonstrable experience of:
- Technical background with knowledge Oil & Gas upstream/midstream production management systems of 5+ years and software development practices
- Work experience as a Product Owner or subject matter expert role in a software product
- Work experience in Agile projects
- Team spirit and good communication abilities
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to work and coordinate with multiple teams in different time zones
Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
- Demonstratable experience in industry forums and societies
- Hands on experience managing aspects of product life cycle
Desirable Qualifications:
- Familiarity with IoT architectures, devices, sensors, and protocols
- Working with cloud development teams
- Proficient in Data Analysis and BI tools like SQL, Python, R, PowerBI, Dundas is a plus
- Data visualization skills to create dashboards to share data trends to stakeholders
- Experience working with API and integration understanding
- Expertise and understanding of oil and gas operations particularly around production monitoring, asset management, equipment performance
- Understanding of O&G operational metrics such as production efficiency, downtime, safety, maintenance targets, etc.
- Awareness of industry regulations and standards related to data management
- Customer-Centric mindset
- Problem solving skills
