Product Analytics Manager
Job Description
This role spans across initiatives, gaining experience in data sources, products, and the overall FactSet ecosystem. Product Analytics Managers support the Senior Product Analytics Managers on prioritizing and developing tools and processes to help product teams gain deeper insights into user engagement, retention, and overall product success.
Collaborating with Enterprise Data & Insights and Strategic Business Units, they identify the necessary business requirements, data and infrastructure needs, and establish metrics to measure success. The Product Analytics Manager also becomes an expert in using vendor tools to meet basic analytics needs. By leveraging usage data, they strive to tailor the user experience based on role, firm type, and user preferences. This role requires extensive cross-functional collaboration to establish a shared understanding of user behavior across the entire organization.
The Product Analytics Manager brings a strong background in product management and analytics to drive actionable insights and maximize the value of product telemetry at FactSet. They have experience instrumenting telemetry throughout the product lifecycle to solve business problems. With a pragmatic understanding of data application, they can effectively analyze user and customer behavior. A strong problem solver, they excel at finding innovative solutions to data challenges. Their proficiency and interest in modern data technologies allows them to work independently and deliver high-quality analysis. They have experience implementing metrics frameworks and developing roadmaps to measure and guide product success.
Responsibilities:
Analysis & Experimentation
- Support senior team members across data initiatives by leading ad hoc analysis, assisting with development of production data models, reporting, & BI dashboards
- Perform research on data sources & discovery of new data sources
Supporting Product Teams, Communication, & Administration
- Manage inbound requests for Product Analytics, resolve common queries, and escalate issues to senior team members from internal support channels.
- Administer Product Analytics systems for access controls, permission levels and configuration changes
- Support the creation and delivery of enablement for Product management, Office Hours support, and ongoing workshops to drive data literacy across Product Management
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data & Analytics, or related field
- 8+ years in Product Management, Data Science & Analytics, or Business Insights at a B2B SaaS Company, or relevant experience
- 2-3 years' experience in leading a program/function within a Product/Data & Analytics organization
- Experience working in FinTech, interest in financial markets or investing, or previous experience in buy-side or sell-side roles preferred
- Proficient in software, web application, and data technologies
- Proficient in SQL, Python, Jupyter Notebooks, Elasticsearch/Kibana/Logstash; comfortable working with structured/unstructured data
- Excellent critical thinking, decision making, attention to detail, organizational and time management skills; ability to think abstractly, find creative solutions to complex problems
- Strong communication skills with ability to present technical information to non-technical audience
- Self-reliant with ability to work in a team; track record of driving new thinking across organization
- A collaborative leadership style capable of influence without direct authority
- Experience leveraging product usage to measure adoption for internal or external applications
Preferred Experience:
- 4+ years working in analytics or product management function
- Strong understanding of Product Management, SDLC lifecycles, data models & SQL query languages
- Experience with product adoption & analytics technologies
- Technical expertise with web applications, HTML, and CSS.
The budgeted salary range for this position in the state of Connecticut and New York City is $110,000 - $140,000.
