Eaton's Power Delivery Division is currently seeking a Product Application Engineer to join our team in Waukesha, WI, which features modern facilities including office space, laboratories, and product manufacturing. The buildings host marketing, engineering, testing, finance, sales, and research which offers direct exposure and collaboration with all aspects of our business.

Position Overview:

This role offers an exciting opportunity for a candidate to be involved with front-end innovative solutions and customer interactions to help grow and develop Eaton's transformer product line. The primary purpose of this position is to provide product engineering support to the marketing team for both internal and external customers and support for all transformer marketing initiatives.

Essential Functions:

In this role, you will:
  • Serve as a transformer subject matter expert by providing technical product, application, and training support to Proposals Engineers, Inside Sales Reps, Sales Agents/Reps and Customers.
  • Serve as a key engineering support for all internal and external commercial support matters, including management of customer visits, plant tours, witness testing and inspections. Gather customer intel during the visits and report back to marketing management team.
  • Serve as a key customer liaison for all technical product support matters, including specification clarifications, test requirements, and product scope. This includes detailed specification reviews and providing input into transformer quotations per customer specifications.
  • Support strategic marketing and new product development initiatives (NPD) through development and collection of Voice of Customer (VOC) data, analysis of product/application trends, and assessment of new product market potential.
  • Develop and deliver product support and marketing communications including technical presentations, training seminars, promotional materials, and research and/or white papers for publication and presentation at conferences.
  • Attend strategic industry meetings, trade shows, and visit key customers to improve the business. Establish and maintain strong professional and interpersonal relationships with customers. Cultivate relationships with vital customers and understand customer needs.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the production process, test process, IEEE standards compliance, and product application. Work collaboratively with customers, engineering, quality, supply chain, and warranty to resolve commercial issues

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in technical marketing, engineering, or manufacturing
  • Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the work locations listed as no relocation is being offered
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

Preferred qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience using SAP and a quotation system

Position Criteria:
  • Must be detail oriented, able to prioritize and execute multiple tasks in an efficient manner and demonstrate a good work ethic and positive attitude
  • Excellent analytical, communication, interpersonal, problem solving and decision-making skills to support internal and external contacts within a multi-cultured environment
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, independently, and meet critical deadlines.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively explain technical concepts to a variety of audiences, high learning agility, and great follow-through in meeting commitments.
  • Knowledge of electrical distribution transformers and their components and accessories and knowledge of typical applications, equipment, systems, and standards
  • Must be very customer and commercial centric
  • Proficient using MS Office tools
