Product Architect, System Performance

Summary

As a Hardware Product Architect at Meta Reality Labs, you will lead the definition of system performance architecture that includes system power / performance management architecture, system always-on architecture, and device throttling architecture across the AR-glasses product roadmap. We want people who work well in teams, can brainstorm big ideas, work in new technology areas, thrive in ambiguity, are able to map trade spaces and can help set up technology roadmaps that can transition into a high-volume consumer product.You will lead the definition of system performance architecture across all parts of the system: display, silicon, hardware, firmware, software platform, and experiences. The role requires expert technical communication with cross-functional teams and requires excellent technical understanding of consumer electronics and system and silicon architecture. The ideal candidate would blend strong systems skills with a background in designing system architecture. Previous roles should involve driving architecture convergence on complex consumer electronics products with experience in performance management architecture, firmware development and the ability to work collaboratively with experts in different fields to make architectural tradeoffs.This is an exceptionally fascinating role as the candidate will have the opportunity to work across all the AR product verticals and functions.

Required Skills

Product Architect, System Performance Responsibilities:

• Lead the definition of system power/performance management architecture across all product verticals to maintain quality of service under all conditions and environments, in a device with ultra low TDP.
• Work with HW and SW teams to prototype and implement solutions. Work with experience teams to validate user-experience implications with different system performance management schemes.
• Engage with technology project leads, and various component SMEs in creating the overall system architecture and platform as the starting point for product execution
• Communicate technology and product strategy effectively to both internal and external stakeholders
• Guide management and partner teams on long term technology investments
• Travel up to 15% time domestically and internationally

Minimum Qualification

Minimum Qualifications:

• MS in EE/CS or equivalent
• Proven experience in HW/SW co-design to build system performance management architecture, and understanding of system power, performance, thermals and workloads
• Profound understanding of system performance, and tradespace to maintain system quality-of-service
• 10+ years of product experience in system/product architecture
• Communication experience working with product development engineers, product managers, researchers and other hardware/software cross-functional teams
• Experience working with partnerships teams and external partners
• Understanding of HW, SW and product development cycles and dependencies

Preferred Qualification

Preferred Qualifications:

• Track record of technical leadership on large, complex projects
• Shipping experience with consumer electronics
