We're currently seeking a Product Communications Specialist II to join our team at the Nissan North Americas Headquarters in Franklin, TN.
Job Description:
- Serve as an external spokesperson for Nissan product communications, delivering company messages with an emphasis on reaching potential customers through targeting appropriate media outlets.
- Establish and grow strong relationships with regional, national and emerging media through proactive outreach
- Develops project timelines and supports the planning of strategic product launches for new products within Nissan, including reveal moments, media ride-and-drives, auto shows, corporate events and regional media events within the U.S.
- Responsible for planning and coordination of lifecycle activities and support for non-launch products.
- Support strategy, operations and inventory for regional press fleets to maximize coverage in target publications, working with regional press fleet offices.
- Develop press materials, as well as story ideas and opportunities for feature articles, interviews, presentations, and other public relations activities that promote awareness of the brand, vehicles and technologies.
- Ability to network and build close and trusted relationships with key stakeholders to engage the media when appropriate, prepare SMEs for key media events, collaborative strategic planning and supporting the needs of specific business functions.
- Effectively manage and engage the various vendors and agencies that support the Nissan Product Communications team on a daily basis
- Provide communications advice and direction, and supervise performance of external public relations counsel
- Works cross-functionally with the other communication teams (Corporate and Internal) to align on activities and support function-wide goals and objectives
- As necessary, performs other related duties of which the above are representative.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree required, preferred in public relations, communications or marketing
- Three (3) or more years of public relations experience in a corporate or agency environment (Automotive experience an asset)
- Previous experience working with an extensive network of media contacts including, lifestyle, business, local and automotive media is preferred
- Proven ability to work with agencies and outside resources in order to achieve company objectives, strategic public relations goals, including campaign based work and general media relations activities
- Experience working cross-functionally in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, media monitoring software applications and social media platforms
