Product Design Lead

The Opportunity

Come be part of a promising B2B SaaS venture supporting the profitable growth of small to medium sized e-commerce brands. Through the application of sophisticated AI and machine learning algorithms coupled with nudges grounded in behavioral science, Vandra, a start-up being incubated inside 1848 Ventures, enables brands to squeeze more sales out of their existing site traffic.

Vandra is seeking a results-driven Product Design Lead to shape the shopper and merchant experiences for our AI-powered conversion rate optimization solution. This role calls for a person that thrives in a fast-paced, scrappy, start-up environment who can be effective at multiple altitudes. We want a team member that can operate at the strategic level, generating foundational insights and deep knowledge of our users and their journeys and shaping the future direction of our solution. The right talent can also shift gears into execution mode, prototyping experiences to test and build, conducting user research to validate proposed designs, and iterating on designs based on the team’s feedback. The ideal candidate welcomes close collaboration and partnership with engineering, data science, and product teammates to create a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts.

Responsibilities

• Develop a Deep Understanding of E-Commerce Brands and Online Shoppers
  Serve as the voice of our customers, e-commerce brands looking to profitably grow their businesses, and of e-commerce shoppers, whose purchase decisions we are trying to influence.

• Turn Insights into Action
  Collaborate with teammates in product, engineering, and data science to ideate on solutions and experiments to drive performance improvements, validate / disprove our most critical assumptions, and ultimately deliver on our core value proposition.

• Design Flows and Experiences
  Take broad, conceptual concepts and create flows and experiences that meet users' needs, are simple, intuitive, and easy-to-use, and provide teammates with the right level of fidelity to execute on.

Required Experience / Qualifications

• Proven track record of impact (quantifiable results on metrics that matter)

• Background in product design, preferably at a B2B SaaS company

• Prior experience working at or with start-ups or early-stage initiatives (0-1 products)

• Experience designing, building, and shipping digital solutions

• Strong communication skills with an emphasis on clarity and conciseness

• Proficiency with customer and user research

• Comfort operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with significant autonomy

• Proficiency with widely-used design and development tools (e.g., Figma, Miro, Jira)

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience in the e-commerce space and in understanding purchase psychology
