Product Design Lead

The Opportunity

The Altana Design team is growing fast. We are looking for multiple Design roles as we embark on our next wave of growth. We are looking for experienced individuals who can manage the complexity of our product at the pace that our company is growing.  

In the hybrid role of Product Design Lead, you will work across multiple teams, contributing to the higher-level product strategy with the option of managing a team of one or two individual contributors as the team scales. You will partner with other functions including Product, Engineering, Data Science, Product Marketing, Sales, and others to represent the Product Design strategy

What you’ll do at Altana

• Contribute to product strategy and decision-making that lead to intuitive product experiences 
• Partner with other partners of the company define execute and deliver value quickly 
• Help build and manage a team of Product Designers toward successful outcomes
• Empathize with customers by participating in or leading research and testing
• Solve complex problems with solutions that enable an intuitive analysis of massive data sets in a multi-user environment (supply chain visualizations, knowledge graphs, dashboards, and reports)
• Solve complex problems with your cross-functional Lead partners that enable an intuitive analysis of massive data sets in a multi-user environment  (supply chain visualizations, knowledge graphs, dashboards, and reports)
• Collaborate with Engineers designing directly in fully functional prototypes product
• Develop high-quality visual and interaction designs across all phases of product development including interactive prototypes

Experience/Skills Required:

• 4+ years experience as a UX or Product Designer in multi-user enterprise SaaS products
• 1+ years managing at least one direct report
• A compelling portfolio of work that demonstrates the ability to solve problems dealing with complex data in non-linear workflows
• Excellent writing skills for commuicatiing and within the experiences you design 
• Experience leading generative and evaluative user interviews 
• A deep interest in product development and technology; excited about building incredible product experiences
• Excellent communication skills and storyteller
• Comfort level with CSS and styling React components
• Bonus: HCI or similar degree
