Job Description

Job Description:

Linksys is looking for a Product Designer to join our design team to help re-invision the future of Linksys for our users and the future of what it means to work from home with secure WiFi. Today's landscape for home networking is defined by remote work and you'll play a large role in envisioning what that journey looks like for our customers and bring that vision to life in a way that feels refined, secure, intuitive and magical. We are working on a new Linksys app which you'll be involved in from strategy, design to development and collaborate with engineers, product managers and other designers throughout the way. Linksys is a global company, and your work will impact our users in over 24+ countries.

Our multi-disciplinary team is made up of Product Designers, Research, a Data Analyst and Program Manager. We care deeply about our users and play an integral part in gathering insights about experiences and behaviors of people who use our products to inspire and inform design.

We are a fully remote team, but do occasionally meet for team gatherings, project kickoffs or fun company events.

We are hiring across all time zones as we recognize that our team members can be high-performers wherever they are located. While we have a physical office in Irvine, California, we are excited to consider remote candidates based in most U.S. locations. Please speak with our Talent Acquisition team to confirm you are located in a state where we have a presence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create elegant, intuitive user experiences to meet evolving needs of users
  • Responsible for user flows, wireframes, prototypes, visual UI, animation, voice, haptics and design documentation and specifications for hand-off
  • Balance product, design, research & development with user goals in mind to shape overall product strategy
  • Brainstorm and lead work sessions to align cross-functional teams (Product Designers, Researchers, Product Managers, Engineers and Marketing) towards product goal
  • Understand target users deeply by conducting user research, participate in market evaluation, data analysis, and usability testing
  • Work alongside other designers to gather feedback, share ideas and iterate
  • Ensure consistency and alignment by contributing to design guidelines and development standards and design systems
  • Impart day-to-day design leadership and know-how that fosters a shared understanding of design-thinking processes

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field preferred (Interaction Design, Psychology, Human Factors, Anthropology, HCI, etc.)
  • UX portfolio, demonstrating insights, problem solving, and solutions for web or mobile applications

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of proven experience in Product/UX design
  • Expertise in Figma and other relevant UX design software tools
  • Proven experience in all phases of design process including user research, copywriting, wireframing, prototyping, visual and interaction design, and usability testing
  • Strong information design experience with solid foundation in UX design heuristics with deep attention to detail. Experience in product development processes, especially in mobile, web, consumer electronics, packaged software, or complex software systems

We are looking for remarkable candidates to join the Linksys team. Time and time again, research has shown that individuals from marginalized identities are hesitant to apply if they do not check off every box. If you think you are qualified, but do not necessarily meet every line in the job description, please connect with us. We would love to hear from you and see if you'd be a great culture add.
