Product Designer

As a Product Designer at Fox Robotics, you will own the design of a wide range of products and services that make up a self-driving forklift. The scope of design at Fox is broad, encompassing interaction design of the physical forklift itself as well as web and mobile services surrounding it. You will have key ownership over all decisions that affect the look, feel, and usability of the product.

Responsibilities:

• Travel to customer warehouses as needed to better understand how our products are used in the real world.
• Gain an understanding of our customers and develop user personas through user research.
• Understand capabilities and limitations of our automation functions.
• Provide conceptual design ideas, information architecture, interaction, and visual. designs for our physical forklift user interfaces.
• Design sitemaps, layouts and user interaction flows for web, mobile services.
• Take broad ideas and turn them into actionable designs.
• Create wireframes, mockups to aid in-person and remote testing for design validation.
• Give and receive ideas from the product and customer teams, as well as senior leadership.
• Collaborate with engineers to understand, inspire and to expand what is possible.
• Support and mentor a fast-growing team.

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least 4 years of experience designing and shipping industrial or consumer products.
• Experience with user experience and interaction design.
• Experience with web and/or mobile layouts and visual design.
• Proven communication skills and an ability to clearly identify product needs and make decisions that serve the best interests of customers and the company.
• Experience with user research techniques such as discovery interviews, usability testing and survey designs.
• Ability to thrive in a fast paced and ambiguous environment with rapidly evolving challenges.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with human-robot interaction.
• Experience with warehousing and logistics.
• Demonstrated people or project leadership abilities.
