As Marqeta’s Product Designer, you will tackle a range of complex and thrilling challenges within the payment and consumer-facing applications domain. As a pivotal member of our team, you'll lead design decisions and contribute significantly to our product strategy and development during a 3 month contract.

What You’ll Do

• Crafting solutions for developers, builders, and a broad spectrum of clients from startups to enterprise-level companies in the payments industry.
• Applying design systems thinking and articulating design rationale from a UX perspective.
• Constantly striving to improve and seize opportunities to excel.
• Exceptional communication skills, capable of engaging discussions from peer reviews to executive presentations.
• Collaborating closely with engineering, product managers, and key stakeholders to shape product strategy, design, and development.
• Fostering a design culture where feedback from peers, leaders, customers, and users is integral to our process.
• Sharing and reviewing work with fellow designers, embracing a culture of feedback.
• Producing high-quality, pixel-perfect designs and striving to create delightful and thoughtful user interactions.

What We’re Looking For

• Impressive visual design skills, demonstrating pixel perfection and a continuous drive for inspiration.
• A passion for exceptional user experiences, aiming to delight users with top-tier design solutions.
• A diverse portfolio showcasing your product and interaction design work, highlighting responsive web and native mobile app designs.
• Proficiency in UI, UX, or visual design, with hands-on experience across these areas and a keen interest in expanding your skill set.
• Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively share your design process and decisions with cross-functional teams.
• The capacity to advocate for design and represent the discipline within the organization.
• Proactive in seeking ways to enhance the product experience and expand your capabilities as a Product Designer.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in a tech, product-centric company, or design agency, with a focus on consumer-facing and payment applications.
