Product Designer, Design Systems

The Role: 

Carrot Fertility is seeking a product designer that will help us evolve our design system that empowers our product teams to deliver an accessible, high-quality experience at scale. We are looking for someone who loves hands-on design work but also engages in strategic conversations to shape our solutions and products.

• Audit existing experiences and upcoming design work to identify patterns ready to be codified as components into the design system
• Create design architecture, UX patterns, reusable and components for the design system with a focus on accessibility, usability, and neurodiversity
• Build and maintain easy-to-use Figma components for the design team
• Document best practices and usage guidelines to help designers, engineers, and other stakeholders understand how, why, and when to use specific components or patterns 
• Collaboratively partner with UX peers (product designers, content designers, product managers, engineers, and many more) to elevate the overall quality of  Carrot’s product design
• Showcase the best of our product to customers by owning and customizing our go-to-market product demos

The Team: 

As part of joining a fast growing design team, you have a unique opportunity to look at the current system, process, and vision to define the future of what our design system can be. You will report to the Design Lead, providing input on strategic decisions and thinking critically about member experience.

Minimum Qualifications: 

• Passion for improving healthcare experiences, focusing on best care possible
• 2+ years of product design experience shipping thoughtful and high-quality solutions for desktop, tablet, and/or mobile based products
• Portfolio that displays history of Figma expertise, including strong prior experience implementing (using, contributing to, and/or managing) a design system for a digital product in a complex product ecosystem
• Portfolio demonstrating understanding of visual harmony, information hierarchy, and best practices around design patterns
• Systems thinker who enjoys finding creative solutions to organizational, architectural, and design challenges

Preferred Qualifications:

• Broad strategic thinking shaping user experience direction
• Good written and verbal communication skills to effectively present to a variety of audiences explaining rationale behind proposals, and resolve conflicting requirements across stakeholders
• A basic knowledge of front-end development languages to understand feasibility 
• Experience designing for the healthcare industry, preferably consumer health and/or tele-health platforms

Compensation:

The expected base salary for this position will range from $137,000 - $157,000. Actual compensation may vary from posted base salary depending on your confirmed job-related skills and experience.
