Job Description
The Product Designer will be responsible for creating various user experience and design aspects for the company. The Product Designer works within the Office of Design, and alongside the Product and Engineering teams to develop a cohesive user experience throughout our platform leveraging the Bigtincan Design System. Our ideal candidate guides the design process through its completion by understanding requirements, presenting to stakeholders, and working collaboratively with developers to ensure accurate implementation. This candidate helps the company by better understanding the end user and making sure their needs are being met by our offering.
Primary Responsibilities• Partner with the Office of Design team and developers to maintain a cohesive design experience throughout our product.• Iterate on existing and generate new UI patterns for our web and mobile web product offerings.• Support and lead feature enhancements to our iOS-based products.• Participate in the critique of in-progress design work, evaluating the priority and effectiveness of solutions.• Contribute to the range of research methods used.• Employ design thinking and questioning techniques to develop strategies and execution plans where pathways are not always obvious.• Provide and encourage feedback from your team and the teams you collaborate with.• Define and implement best practices during the pre-design process.• Create user flows and map out pathways that an individual will use in the platform.• Map use cases and state why a person would use the platform.• Develop wireframes in order to demonstrate concepts.• Create prototypes to show and demonstrate interactions.• Work with research teams to support your ideas with analytics to understand user behavior.
Qualifications & Requirements• 2-5 years experience in user interface design.• A portfolio of professional design projects that represent work in web and mobile web applications. iOS/MacOS/iPadOS is a plus.• Ability to create engaging, visually consistent designs using a design system.• In-depth knowledge of Figma, Sketch, Zeplin, Jira and Confluence. Note that we are primarily a Figma based design team. • Understanding and appreciation of industry standard user interface design concepts and processes.• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present complex concepts clearly and persuasively across diverse audiences at various levels of our organization.• Attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.• Proven ability to manage multiple design requests in a timely fashion, with competing priorities and deadlines.• Experience testing software on a variety of platforms including iOS, Android, and Windows mobile and devices.• Experience with user-centered design principles and practices, web/mobile standards, typography and color, and web/mobile usability and accessibility standards.• Knowledgeable in creating wireframes, visual mockups graphics, user workflows, and low and high-fidelity prototypes.• Ability to work collaboratively with designers and developers to implement new ideas.
Work Location
The Office of Design works remotely and while it is centered in NYC, has talented team members that work from other locations. US eastern time zone preferred.
