We're looking for an experienced Product Designer to join our rapidly growing distributed team. This designer will be working on our core Managed WordPress Hosting product and is ideal for a logical, systems problem solver interested in making complicated, technical workflows not only simple, but actually enjoyable to use.
The WP Engine UX Team is motivated by collaboration, learning, and good old fashioned experimentation. The right candidate is a strong product designer that strives to simplify complex systems and understands that even the easiest to use interfaces won't be adopted if they don't connect to our customers' root goals and desires - that the best interfaces forge an emotional connection beyond pure logic and function. They are analytical, passionate about UX trends, and standard methodologies. They enjoy discovering reusable patterns and frameworks for a better, faster design process. They understand the importance of including others, sharing wins, and have developed techniques for effective collaboration and consensus-building across Product, Engineering, and cross-functional partners. These are new product teams, and so require a Sr. Product Designer comfortable owning outcomes and taking the reins as they push their teams to success.
Your day-to-day

• Help us bring our company core value "Design Matters" to life every day - delighting Developers, Agencies, and business owners with appealing, intuitive designs that make tasks quicker and easier
• Design thoughtful, meticulous end-to-end experiences that consider the happy path and where users are most likely to stray from it - iterating from exploration to release to improvement through rapid prototyping and testing with customers and non-customers
• Help establish a product vision and define the incremental path to get there, assisting in the planning and prioritization of design efforts and pitching new product opportunities based on observations and data measurements
• Identify key risks and collaborate with the UX Research team to learn customer sentiment and behavior, relying on both existing as well as new research
• Participate in and facilitate brainstorms, design reviews, and other collaboration sessions that help the team win together
• Use and contribute to our Design System and other internal initiatives
• Promote the value of design by sharing successes, lessons learned, etc.

Your passion and expertise

• A love for building products and the puzzle of making "the right thing"
• As comfortable designing in Figma and Miro as you are conceptualizing in a Google Doc or analyzing user behavior in Google Analytics or Pendo
• Adopts an iterative design process - problem solving from ambiguity to clarity, focused on learning from failures to find success
• Experience shipping creative, human-centered products and working with Designers, Researchers, Engineers, and Product Managers
• Basic user research skills such as interviews and usability testing
• Has worked remotely with teammates across the globe before
