Why We Need You:

PEMCO has a dynamic and challenging opportunity for a Product Development Analyst to join our community. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting actuarial and predictive analysis to support product development, rating, process improvements and system changes for PEMCO. What You'll Be Doing:
  • Provide analytical support for actuarial and product development.
  • Conduct predictive modeling and multivariate analysis.
  • Proactively investigate and assess issues and trends in actuarial science, providing insight and recommendations to Product Team.
  • Participate with product managers and actuaries in making pricing decisions.
  • Collaborate with Product Team and other business units to provide business solutions.
  • Assist with developing and implementing rates, rating plans, pricing strategies, and financial forecasts.
  • Demonstrate behaviors consistent with PEMCO's policies, values, code of ethics, and business conduct.

What You'll Bring:
  • B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent work experience (Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field) is required
  • 3+ years of experience in actuarial & statistical predictive modeling in a property/casualty insurance company
  • Understanding and knowledge of various modeling methods
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills when preparing reports and giving presentations
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Precision: detail orientated and has a strong desire for accuracy and thoroughness is required
  • Programming: proficiency in programming languages is required (SQL, R or Python)
  • Modeling: proficiency in modeling software suites is required (Radar and Emblem preferred)
  • MS Office: Skilled proficiency in MS Office is required
  • Highly Analytical: Is passionate about working with disparate datasets bringing data together to answer business questions. Collaborates to create, manage, and translate data to meaningful insights. Can work with external vendors to integrate data for analysis; knows how to build efficient and scalable infrastructure and data models is required
  • Compliance: Possesses knowledge and understanding of relevant laws, rules, and regulations
  • Business Environment: Has a thorough understanding of our industry, the relevant business landscape, and trends in growth and insurance environments; can spot early indicators of change and apply strategies to adapt quickly

Work Location:

This position has a flexible work location It can be hybrid out of the Greater Seattle and Spokane areas, or remote from Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Ohio, South Carolina, Florida, or Texas.
