Product Development Coordinator - Tabletop Gaming
Job Description
With overall direction from the Product Manager, the Coordinator supports in the conceptualization and development of product portfolios for tabletop gaming categories. Involved with Product Development from creation to completion, the Coordinator supports the development of unique and innovative products in line with Upper Deck's overall sales and profit goals for digital distribution channels.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by an individual assigned to this job. Other duties may be assigned.
- Product Development:
- Must be able to determine and report on the driving factors for tabletop gaming styles or intellectual property tasked to oversee.
- Creates and maintains checklists for product content.
- Responsible for reviewing product components for accuracy and quality prior to production.
- Manages various spreadsheets detailing product requirements and budgets.
- Product Determination and Selection:
- Researches, anticipates, identifies, and capitalizes on tabletop gaming industry trends.
- Suggests categories and products for tabletop games in line with strategies specified in product portfolio strategies and business plans.
- Quality Control/Ethics:
- Ensures that a product is built taking into account quality and compliance standards.
- Works closely with the Operation and Production teams to minimize development errors and delivery slippage.
- Understands value drivers within the tabletop gaming community and monitors appropriate channels to uphold product integrity.
- Marketing, Advertising, Promotion, and Solicitation Activity:
- Provide input into Marketing/Advertising/PR campaigns in line with corporate strategies and initiatives, or other activities as designated.
- Systems and Administration:
- Helps manage and maintain the accuracy of product documentation and communicates this throughout the organization
- Communication:
- Responsible for keeping team members up-to-date with ranging developments for tabletop gaming initiatives acting as a liaison with other departments.
- Coordinates any key deliverable milestones and alterations across all departments.
INTERACTION
The Coordinator will interact with numerous departments within the company as well as some external parties. Core team will consist of, and working closely with, the tabletop gaming Product and Brand Managers. Graphic, Photo and Type departments will be worked with heavily to insure that content is conveyed properly. Project Managers will be constantly consulted to keep tasks on schedule and to meet licensor requirements when applicable. Financial and Legal requirements we also need to be considered and those departments will be consulted when necessary. The Coordinator will work with Customer Service as needed to help with customer issues and will also be involved with outside contractors on various products. Lastly, Upper Deck Entertainment social media outlets will be used to interact with collectors.

Education / Experience:
- College Degree preferred.
- 4+ years of experience with tabletop gaming.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Extensive background with tabletop games
- General Pop Culture knowledge and interest is preferred.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple, high priority projects with a keen attention to detail.
- Superior interpersonal, analytical and problem solving abilities.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong background in working with various internal and external teams.
- Professional demeanor; team player orientation.
- Ability to perform duties under minimal supervision while exercising discretion and independent judgment when needed.
- Hands on, energetic and motivated self-starter.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally on behalf of Upper Deck.
- MS Office (advanced expertise with Excel)
- Ability to create and maintain complex Microsoft Excel spreadsheets is a plus.
- Knowledge of basic budgeting.
