The successful candidate will support engineering initiatives within the Access Engineering group (product development), with a focus on interventional cardiology devices and accessories. The role will demand hands on prototyping and testing, analysis and problem solving, and collaboration with cross functions.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities :

• Provide Product Development expertise supporting new design initiatives focused on reducing vascular complications and facilitating vascular closure.
• Participate & support brainstorming efforts to identify potential solutions considering design trade-offs.
• Fabricate prototypes with assistance from technical support team (Machine Shop, Technicians and Designers) and suppliers.
• Construct solid models and drawings using GD&T and stack-up analyses
• Work with internal and external manufacturing partners to ensure producible designs; support qualifications as necessary
• Address technical and programmatic risks, ensuring effective risk identification, assessment, and mitigation.
• Prepare design reviews and present to peers and review team, ensuring the technical integrity of the product design.
• Effectively communicate activity status, issues and mitigation plans with key stakeholders.
• Collaborate to ensure compliance with design controls, company quality policy and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Suggest and contribute to initiatives that improve the Engineering Department's operations and procedures.

Job Qualifications:

• BS in Mechanical, Biomedical Engineering or directly related scientific discipline
• 1+ year(s) product development experience, demonstrated history of executing to meet goals and achieve results
• 3D modeling experience with experience of utilizing advanced analytical methods such as FEA or tolerance analysis to vet designs and mitigate risk during early development
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and experience with root cause investigations
• Ability to exercise independent judgment in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
• Willingness and ability to travel to the EU, up to 10% of the time, in support of role responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Master of Science degree
• Medical Device product development experience
• Knowledge in medical device clinical use, design controls and regulating standards
• Knowledge of cath lab and/or cardiothoracic/vascular surgical environments
• Solidworks experience
