Job Description

We have an opening for a Product Development Engineer in the New Product Development Group. A Product Development Engineer develops new products and improves existing products to help the company maintain a competitive advantage in the business environment.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Design and develop new products based on a project scope. Proves product effectiveness through extensive design and testing; completes necessary documentation. Inform associates of new product by planning and conducting new product orientation meetings.
  • Design tools and equipment as needed.
  • Review, understand, and train associates in domestic and international standards.
  • Operational knowledge of Flow Lab.
  • Facilitate communication between Engineering and Production Departments. Solve production problems as needed.
  • Complete and submit weekly and monthly Progress Reports and various other reports as needed to Engineering Manager, and any other managers as required.
  • Attend regular Product Development meetings. Prepare all of the necessary information (including but not limited to: test data, updated action items, and updated Gantt charts).
  • Write and update manufacturing and engineering procedures, installation instructions as needed.
  • Complete special projects/tasks and duties as assigned associated with product feasibility, design and testing.
  • Observe all safety rules; uses all personal protective equipment.
  • Constantly updates Product Development Project Action Items. Reports progress of all action items in corporate controlled spreadsheet and any other engineering-controlled documents.

Requirements

  • B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Operational knowledge of machinery and prior work experience with related equipment and tooling.
  • Uses inspection tools and various measurement devices, including calipers and micrometers.
  • Advanced math skills.
  • Intermediate drafting skills utilizing 2D and 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to use inspection tools and various measurement devices, including calipers and micrometers.
  • Microsoft Office for Windows.

Preferred Skills: experience with sensors, electrical engineering concepts, and electrical device certifications. If you don't have these skills, but you meet all the other requirements, let's talk!
