Product Development Engineer
Job Description
The New Product Development Engineer will be accountable for leading a cross-functional New Product Development (NPD) team in planning and coordinating all aspects of NPD projects from initiation to commercialization. The role will be the single point of accountability for R&D activities within the portfolio and will partner closely with the Marketing team to manage the various NPD projects that define the future of the portfolio. Â
This position is for someone who is goal driven and enjoys working in a dedicated cross-functional team environment and will have responsibility for leading an NDP team of approximately 20. The NPD engineer will plan, monitor and coordinate tasks, as well as maintain and update plans and schedules for numerous projects. Thy will direct the activities of internal and external team members to meet project objectives.
An appropriate candidate must be a flexible, self-directed, organized, dependable, proactive, and persistent leader. They must effectively plan and manage projects, lead and coach project team members, solve problems, and make decisions with limited direction.

This position is 80% remote with 20% travel within the United States and internationally. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
Key Duties:
- Coordinate work performed by R&D team and cross-functional partners by defining project requirements and managing their execution.
- Lead the team to develop detailed project plans and manage all implementation processes including resource allocation, progress tracking, monitoring change control process, testing, documentation, training and on-time delivery within budget constraints.
- Provide strategic program guidance to project teams.
- Plan and execute new product development projects from concept to commercialization.
- Lead other project managers, as needed, to secure successful implementation of new product development portfolio.
- Prioritize and handle multiple projects in a fast paced and result oriented environment.
- Report to development steering group with regular cadence to provide transparent communication of project status and issues as well as implementation of actions given by said steering group.
- Ensure resource alignment across the various projects
- Assume full responsibility for portfolio of projects as directed by suitable steering group, within limits of resource usage, timelines, scope, and budget as determined by steering group.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Discipline (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Computer)
- Advanced Degree, preferred.
- PMP Certification, preferred.
Knowledge Required:
- Proven knowledge in project or program management
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and negotiate with a diverse group of cross-functional stakeholders in Marketing, R&D, QA, Regulatory, Sourcing, and Operations.
- Confident decision maker, with a proven ability to negotiate and influence others.
- Well-versed in Medical Device Design Controls
- Strong communication skills and attention to details
- Structured and analytical & problem-solving skills and a process improvement orientation
Experience Required:
- Proven experience (10+ years) with new product launches, preferably leading multi-functional, multi-faceted programs end-to-end, i.e., from pre study and concept phase through development and commercialization.
- Experience managing multi-disciplinary, technical resources with demonstrated ability to interact on a technical level.
- Applied experience with Microsoft Project or other project planning tools.
- Applied experienced with PMP standard work

- We are offering $135,000 - $155,000 yearly salary depending on experience for this position
