Product Development Engineer

About the job:

Do you enjoy the idea of building products that revolutionize the drilling industry?

As our new Product Development Engineer, you will contribute to defining and implementing the product vision, strategy, and roadmap. You will be accountable for identifying, scoping and breaking down new features and improvements of our products and championing these within the company.

You will be a stakeholder for the product called NOVOS , our drilling automation platform. The strategy and vision are driven by our user- and business needs. We have an iterative approach in conjunction with engineers and developers to build viable solutions for our clients.

It is a chance to work with motivating senior engineers with tricks up their sleeves and young engineers whose enthusiasm and eagerness to learn new skills rubs off on anyone!

• Drive long-term product vision and strategy for NOVOS and bridge that with other automation products and third-party applications.
• Communicate and execute on strategy. Lead the discovery and the ideation process.
• Support development and launch of innovative and impactful products, features and service applications.
• Drive product development with a team of world-class engineers and developers
• Integrate UX research and market analysis into product requirements to improve user satisfaction and business impact
• Encourage rapid testing and learning, drive continuous innovation and foster true collaboration with colleagues, partners, users, and customers.
• Set and analyze metrics that measure the success of product
• Perform other work related tasks as assigned.
• Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.

To thrive in this role, we believe you:

• Have experience with the end-to-end product lifecycle
• Understand early stages defining and discovering new products, as well as in later stages improving existing live products
• Have great skills in techniques and methods of modern product discovery and product delivery.
• Have excellent problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills
• Good teamwork skills and proven ability to engage with engineers, developers, clients in a constructive and collaborative relationship
• Experience within the drilling industry is preferred.

We also think you have:

• A Bachelor or Masters in Petroleum, other engineering topics or Product Management.
• Position is onsite located at 10353 Richmond Ave., Houston TX 77042.
• Experience with technology-powered products as Product Manager, Product Design, or
• Relevant experience from the drilling industry and understanding how these processes can be automated to drive value growth.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Experience in developing and launching products for an international market
